Corynebacterium bovis shoulder prosthetic joint infection: the first reported case.

We report the first case of Corynebacterium bovis shoulder prosthetic joint infection. The organism was isolated from intraoperative tissue culture and from the removed prosthesis using sonication. A 2-stage exchange and 3 months of antibiotic therapy were performed.
