Due to its highly insidious and rapid progression, deep tissue pressure injury (DTPI) is a clinical challenge. Our previous study found that DTPI may be a skeletal muscle injury dominated by macrophage immune dysfunction due to excessive iron accumulation. Decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) hydrogel promotes skeletal muscle injury repair.

Background: The development of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a multistep process that is accompanied by progressive changes in the liver microenvironment, including immune evasion and angiogenesis. Lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2) has been suggested to contribute to tumour progression and metastasis; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationship between LOXL2 and immune infiltration and vasculogenic mimicry (VM) and to identify the role of LOXL2 in HCC diagnosis prognosis evaluation.

Purpose: Angiotropism is the process by which cancer cells attach to and migrate along blood vessels to acquire vasculature, disseminate, and metastasize. However, the molecular basis for such vessel-tumor interactions has not been fully elucidated, partly due to limited experimental models. In this study, we aimed to observe and explore the molecular mechanism underlying angiotropism in melanoma.

Purpose: Upregulation of receptor tyrosine kinase EphA2 has been found to be associated with a poor prognosis in many types of cancer and is considered an attractive therapeutic target. As yet, few efforts have been focused on its tumor suppressive activity triggered by its ligand, ephrinA1. Here, we aimed to determine the potential of ephrinA1 as an important player in melanoma metastasis.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene expresses a transmembrane glycoprotein that is over-expressed in 15-30% breast, 3% lung, and other several digestive cancers. So HER2 is a good biomarker for tumor diagnostic and treatment monitoring. Clinically, detection of HER2 often employs invasive approaches with tissue samples, which at large extent limit its universal application.

RNA‑binding proteins (RBPs) play a fundamental role in the recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, we identified muscleblind‑like 1 (MBNL1), an RBP implicated in developmental control, as a robust suppressor of CRC cell metastasis in vitro. By using a scratch assay coupled with time‑lapse live cell imaging, our findings revealed that the knockdown of MBNL1 induced epithelial‑to‑mesenchymal transition (EMT)‑like morphological changes in the HCT‑116 cells, accompanied by an enhanced cell motility, and by the downregulation of E‑cadherin and the upregulation of Snail expression.

Chaperone-assisted proteasome degradation of oncogenic protein acts as an upstream signal controlling tumorigenesis and progression. The understanding of the co-regulation of chaperone and oncoprotein of endocytosis pathways is extremely limited. In this study, we showed for the first time that proto-Dbl (dbl proto-oncogene product) is co-enriched with mitochondrial chaperone GRP75 in endocytosis vesicles from ovarian cancer cells.

Understanding how cancer cells regulate endocytosis during the cell cycle could lead us to capitalize this event pharmacologically. Although certain endocytosis pathways are attenuated during mitosis, the endocytosis shift and regulation during the cell cycle have not been well clarified. The conventional concept of glucose-regulated proteins (GRPs) as protein folding chaperones was updated by discoveries that translocated GRPs assume moonlighting functions that modify the immune response, regulate viral release, and control intracellular trafficking.
