Glossopharyngeal Nerve Block for the Management of Post-Tonsillectomy Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Unlabelled: To assess the effectiveness of glossopharyngeal nerve block (GNB) in the treatment of postoperative pain among patients undergoing tonsillectomy, a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted. Various databases, including PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, were systematically screened from inception until March 2023. The included studies were assessed using the RoB-2 tool.

Dorsal preservation rhinoplasty versus dorsal hump reduction: a randomized prospective study, functional and aesthetic outcomes.

Purpose: To compare the functional and esthetic outcomes of dorsal preservation rhinoplasty (DPR) and conventional dorsal hump reduction (DHR) in primary rhinoplasty using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Methods: In our randomized prospective double-blinded clinical trial, 50 patients had dorsal nasal hump surgery between October 2021 and November 2022 in our tertiary referral center. All surgeries were done by the same surgeon.

Alternatively, it can be utilized to conceal and smooth irregularities of the nasal dorsum during the procedure. Despite its application, there is limited available data on the extended safety of TPFL.

Harmonic Scalpel Tonsillectomy Versus Coblation Tonsillectomy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Aim: This systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) aimed to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy of coblation versus harmonic scalpel methods among patients undergoing tonsillectomy.

Methods: PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases were systematically screened from inception until October 2022. The outcomes were summarized as risk ratio (RR) or mean difference/standardized mean difference (MD/SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) in a random-effects model.

Dexmedetomidine in Patients Undergoing Transsphenoidal Resection of Pituitary Adenoma: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trials.

Dexmedetomidine has been widely studied in many surgical settings, with possible benefits in lowering anesthetic requirements, improving perioperative hemodynamic stability, and improving postoperative outcomes. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effects of dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing transsphenoidal resection of pituitary adenoma, shedding light on its potential as an adjunctive agent in anesthesia for this specific surgical population. In this review, we searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar from inception to July 20, 2023.

Lipoabdominoplasty: An exponential advantage for a consistently safe and aesthetic outcome.

Background: Extensive liposuction along with limited dissection of abdominal flaps is slowly emerging as a well proven advantageous method over standard abdominoplasty.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study analyzed 146 patients managed for the abdominal contour deformities from March 2004 to February 2010. A simple method to project the post operative outcome by rotation of a supine lateral photograph to upright posture in 46 patients prospectively has succeeded in projecting a predictable result.
