Background: When exposed to ambient light, parenteral nutrition (PN) contamination with peroxides almost doubles, which increases oxidative stress in preterm infants, contributing to the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) recommends complete PN photoprotection to reduce peroxide contamination and optimize its integrity but acknowledges the challenges of its implementation. In this study, a novel photoprotection procedure was tested for its effectiveness in reducing peroxide load and limiting ascorbic acid degradation, and for its feasibility and effectiveness in reducing urinary peroxide levels in preterm infants.

Background: Evidence suggests that death anxiety is a transdiagnostic construct underlying numerous anxiety-related conditions. A previous phase I trial of Overcome Death Anxiety (ODA), a novel online stand-alone psychological intervention to reduce death anxiety, demonstrated preliminary evidence of efficacy and acceptability in a clinical population. Here, we apply SuperResNET network analysis of dSTORM single-molecule localization microscopy (SMLM) to determine how the clathrin endocytosis inhibitors pitstop 2, dynasore and Latrunculin A alter the morphology of clathrin-coated pits. SuperResNET analysis of HeLa and Cos7 cells identifies: small oligomers (Class I); pits and vesicles (Class II); and larger clusters corresponding to fused pits or clathrin plaques (Class III). Pitstop 2 and dynasore induce distinct homogeneous populations of Class II structures in HeLa cells suggesting that they arrest endocytosis at different stages.

Black Canadians frequently experience significant challenges when attempting to access mental health care, resulting in discrepancies in mental health outcomes. This article describes a scoping review that aimed to understand the range and nature of research conducted on the mental health of black Canadians and to identify the gaps in this literature. An established methodological framework guided the scoping review process.

Objectives: With nearly 50,000 people having died since 2016 as a result of the unregulated toxic drug supply, novel approaches to care are needed.
