The development of nanocomposite photocatalysts with high photocatalytic activity, cost-effectiveness, a simple preparation process, and scalability for practical applications is of great interest. In this study, nanocomposites of TiO Degussa P25 nanoparticles/activated carbon (TiO/AC) were prepared at various mass ratios of (4:1), (3:2), (2:3), and (1:4) by a facile process involving manual mechanical pounding, ultrasonic-assisted mixing in an ethanol solution, paper filtration, and mild thermal annealing. The characterization methods included XRD, SEM-EDS, Raman, FTIR, XPS, and UV-Vis spectroscopies.

There is limited information regarding the influence of mangrove growth on the morphological evolution of intertidal mudflats. In this study, Tan Phu Dong district, Tien Giang Province, Vietnam, was selected for investigating how mangrove growth influenced the morphological evolution of an intertidal mudflat. The authors analyzed a series of satellite images (from 1995 and 2022), calculated the enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and documented field visits and observations in pursuit of the objective of the study.

Silk fibroin nanoparticles (FNP) have been increasingly investigated in biomedical fields due to their biocompatibility and biodegradability properties. To widen the FNP versatility and applications, and to control the drug release from the FNP, this study developed the Eudragit S100-functionalized FNP (ES100-FNP) as a pH-responsive drug delivery system, by two distinct methods of co-condensation and adsorption, employing the zwitterionic furosemide as a model drug. The particles were characterized by sizes and zeta potentials (DLS method), morphology (electron microscopy), drug entrapment efficiency and release profiles (UV-Vis spectroscopy), and chemical structures (FT-IR, XRD, and DSC).

Anatomical airway labeling is crucial for precisely identifying airways displaying symptoms such as constriction, increased wall thickness, and modified branching patterns, facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary ailments. This study introduces an innovative airway labeling methodology, BranchLabelNet, which accounts for the fractal nature of airways and inherent hierarchical branch nomenclature. In developing this methodology, branch-related parameters, including position vectors, generation levels, branch lengths, areas, perimeters, and more, are extracted from a dataset of 1000 chest computed tomography (CT) images.

The aim of the current study was to assess the potency of the exopolymeric substances (EPS)-secreting purple non-sulfur bacteria (PNSB) on rice plants on acidic salt-affected soil under greenhouse conditions. A two-factor experiment was conducted following a completely randomized block design. The first factor was the salinity of the irrigation, and the other factor was the application of the EPS producing PNSB ( EPS18, EPS37, and EPS54), with four replicates.
