Reproductive failures, such as recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and recurrent implantation failures (RIF) are a major challenge for reproductive medicine. The current management of RPL and RIF cases identifies some causes for unsuccessful pregnancy in up to half of patients. Several studies have suggested that immune disorders are responsible for an important portion of unexplained cases of RPL and RIF.

Due to its regenerative action, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is applied in treating integumentary and musculoskeletal diseases. However, other potential therapeutic interventions are being investigated. It is essential to fully understand its mitochondrial signaling pathway to achieve this, which plays a fundamental role in elucidating the mechanism of action and possible therapeutic interventions.

Introduction: The pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) have been suggested to play a key role in sexual function and response in women. However, syntheses of the evidence thus far have been limited to interventional studies in women with pelvic pain or pelvic floor disorders, and these studies have failed to fully capture the involvement of the PFMs in a broader population.
Aim: We sought to appraise the evidence regarding the role of the PFMs in sexual function/response in women without pelvic pain or pelvic floor disorders.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is known for its ability to induce a photochemical process, primarily targeting mitochondria, a process referred to as photobiomodulation (PBM). Recently, its use has been attributed as an adjunct in obesity treatment, to stimulate lipolysis and apoptosis. However, the pathway of stimulation remains uncertain.

Immunotherapies have been a treatment proposed for recurrent miscarriages (RMs). The use of immunotherapies remains not recommended in the management of couples with RM. This overview of systematic reviews and meta-analysis (SRs-MAs) aims to identify and evaluate the quality of SRs-MAs that studied the effectiveness of immunotherapies in the treatment of RM patients.

Dysregulated natural killer (NK) cells have been associated with recurrent miscarriages (RM). Studies have suggested that high peripheral blood NK cell cytotoxicities (pNKCs) are associated with an increased risk of RM. The aim of this systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis (MAs) is to investigate the difference in pNKC between nonpregnant and pregnant women with RM and controls and determine whether pNKC is reduced by immunotherapy.

Background: Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) and Recurrent Implantation Failure (RIF) are highly heterogeneous condition and many of the mechanisms involved still require elucidation. The aim was to analyze the lipidomic profile in plasma of women with RPL and RIF before and after receiving the Lipid Emulsion Therapy (LET) containing 10% fish oil (SMOFlipid 20%).
Methods: This study included twenty-six women with RPL or RIF from immunological or inflammatory causes, with elevated natural killer cell levels and divided into a Pregnancy Loss or a Live Birth group according to the outcome.

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) has become an adjuvant therapeutic possibility in body remodeling procedures. Given this scenario, this study was proposed with the aim of evaluating the effects of PBMT to Light Emitting Diode (LED) associating the red (630 nm) and infrared (850 nm) wavelengths in the subcutaneous fatty tissue. This controlled study of comparative intervention that evaluated a sample of subcutaneous fatty tissue from women with grade II obesity.

The association between severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in the first half of pregnancy and pregnancy loss is still unknown. Infections by other coronaviruses, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), appear to increase the risk of miscarriage. The purpose of this study is to assess whether SARS-CoV-2 infection increases the risk of miscarriage.

The technology of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) has been studied around the world for its possible benefits in the treatment and rehabilitation of aesthetic disorders. To better elucidate its real physiological effect on the integumentary tissue, this study was proposed aimed at evaluating whether ESWT can act to stimulate the inflammatory process and angiogenesis in the dermis and epidermis of obese individuals. This is an immunohistological study that evaluated a set of samples of the integumentary tissue of women with grade II obesity with weight loss of 10% of the initial weight undergoing ESWT treatment; the collection of biological material was performed at the time of surgery of bariatric surgery.

Problem: Lymphocyte immunotherapy (LIT) emerged in the early 1980s as a new therapeutic proposal for couples with a history of recurrent miscarriages (RM). However, in the early 2000s, the effectiveness of LIT was questioned. Recently, meta-analyses have observed the effectiveness and safety of LIT in treating couples with RM.

Altered immune and/or inflammatory response plays an important role in cases of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and repeated implantation failure (RIF). Exacerbation of the maternal immune response through increased NK cell activity and inflammatory cytokines can cause embryo rejection leading to abortion or embryo implantation failure. Immunosuppressors or immunomodulators can help or prevent this condition.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has spread rapidly across the world. The vast majority of patients with COVID-19 manifest mild to moderate symptoms but may progress to severe cases or even mortalities. Young adults of reproductive age are the most affected population by SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Anaerobic systems for domestic sewage treatment, like septic tanks and anaerobic filters, are used in developing countries due to favorable economic and functional features. The anaerobic filter is used for the treatment of the septic tank effluent, to improve the COD removal efficiency of the system. The microbial composition and diversity of the microbiome from two wastewater treatment systems (factory and rural school) were compared through 16S rRNA gene sequencing using MiSeq 2 × 250 bp Illumina sequencing platform.

COVID-19 pandemic is affecting various areas of health care, including human reproduction. Many women with reproductive failures, during the peri-implantation period and pregnancy, are on the immunotherapy using immune modulators and immunosuppressant due to underlying autoimmune diseases, cellular immune dysfunction, and rheumatic conditions. Many questions have been raised for women with immunotherapy during the COVID-19 pandemic, including infection susceptibility, how to manage women with an increased risk of and active COVID-19 infection.

Studies have investigated the gestational outcomes of new immunological therapies in the treatment of patients with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in assisted reproductive technology (ART). The objective of this article is to assess the current state of evidence available in the literature on intrauterine perfusion immunotherapies in women undergoing ART treatments. By considering the guidelines of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA), the authors performed systematic review by searching the databases of PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus using the following key words: "recurrent implantation failure," "intrauterine infusion," "Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)," "Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC)," "Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor (G-CSF)," and "Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG).

Objective: Characterization of partial remission using the insulin dose-adjusted HbA1c (IDAA1c) ≤ 9 definition in a multiethnic Brazilian population of children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D), in addition with the determination of both Class II HLA genotype and autoantibodies.
Methods: We analyzed the prevalence of partial remission in 51 new-onset T1D patients with a median time follow-up of 13 months from diagnosis. For this study, anti-GAD65, anti-IA2 and HLA class II genotyping were considered.
