Chest wall, mediastinal, pericardial, myocardial, lobar fissure and pleural locations of the hydatid cysts are referred to be intrathoracic extrapulmonary cysts. In this report a 20-year-old male patient had a liver dome cyst, which was opened into the diaphragm and caused diaphragmatic hydatid cysts. The scoleces have probably been transported by diaphragmatic lymphatics into the subpleural location and then hydatid disease has been disseminated via parasternal lymph nodes anteriorly and intercostal lymph nodes posteriorly towards cupola of the thorax.

Objectives: To determine if detection of IgM and IgG antibodies against mycobacterial antigen A60, together with the Mantoux tuberculin skin test (TST), could be used in the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy (TP) in BCG-vaccinated cases.
Methods: We investigated 125 BCG-vaccinated patients with pleural effusion. Of these, 88 had TP and 37 had non-tuberculous pleurisy (NTP).

Pneumoconiosis was diagnosed by open lung biopsy in two dental technicians who had interstitial lung disease. Mineralogical analysis was performed to investigate the origin of the dust that had been inhaled. A marked accumulation of silicon and phosphorus was found in both cases.
