Key Clinical Message: Uterine artery embolization demonstrated significant efficacy in the treatment of utero-cervical cancer. This minimally invasive procedure holds promise as a valuable adjunct therapy, potentially offering improved outcomes and reduced morbidity in select cases. Further research is warranted to validate its broader clinical utility.

Tamoxifen, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), is a hormone therapy used for the treatment of estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer. We report the case of a 29-year-old premenopausal lady with a history of infertility treatments who was diagnosed with ER-positive infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC) of the breast. Following a modified radical mastectomy (MRM) and adjuvant systemic chemotherapy, tamoxifen was recommended as part of her adjuvant hormonal therapy.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the biodistribution and dosimetry of 177 Lu-DOTA-trastuzumab in patients with HER2-positive breast carcinoma using whole-body (WB) planar imaging at multiple time points.
Patients And Methods: This study was a prospective evaluation of HER2-positive metastatic/locally advanced breast carcinoma patients who underwent gamma camera imaging for dosimetry and biodistribution studies by using 177 Lu-DOTA-trastuzumab. The standard diagnostic dosimetry protocol was followed, which included cold trastuzumab injection followed by in-house produced 177 Lu-DOTA-trastuzumab.

Cancer of the cervix uteri is the fourth most common cancer worldwide with a high mortality rate. Due to limitations of the existing methods, alternative methods for triage are needed for early detection of cervical cancer precursors before progression to high-grade disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate human papillomavirus (HPV) E6/E7 oncogene expression as markers for early identification of cervical cancer risk in women with minor cytological abnormalities and in those with negative cytology.

Cost containment through indigenous production of radioimmunotherapy agents for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) would be a pivotal step toward wider clinical availability, especially in developing countries. We examined the biodistribution and dosimetry of indigenously developed and radiolabeled I-rituximab, using the monoclonal antibody of chimeric origin, in patients with B-cell lymphoma for potential use in radioimmunotherapy. This prospective study included 13 patients with B-cell NHL who underwent low-dose diagnostic scanning for dosimetric and biodistribution studies.

Background: Oral and oropharyngeal carcinomas representing about 90% of all oral malignancies are the sixth most common cancers worldwide. Basic modalities of cancer treatment are surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy (CT) either alone or in combination. For squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) patients, induction CT followed by radiotherapy and concurrent CT are effective methods for improving response rates.

Objectives: To design an objective and accurate method to assess the peri-partum blood loss and to document the benefits of using this method on estimation of blood loss by healthcare professionals.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study was conducted over 6 months at Cama Albless Hospital, Mumbai. To quantify the loss of liquid blood and clots, we made use of plastic drapes, measuring jars, gravimetric method and a training module along with novel clot conversion factor which was designed to validate the visual assessment of blood loss by healthcare professionals.

Objective: The objective of this study is to rationalize the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of high dose rate (HDR) cobalt 60 (Co-60) source versus 192-Iridium (192-Ir) source brachytherapy in government funded hospitals and treatment interruption gap because of exchange of sources.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study of gynecological cancer patients, treated by radiotherapy with curative intent between April 2005 and September 2012 was conducted. We analyzed the total number of patients treated for external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and brachytherapy (Intracavitary brachytherapy or cylindrical vaginal source).

Giant cystadenocarcinomas of the ovary are rarely described. Huge ovarian masses are mostly benign, but malignancy should be ruled out by investigations and clinical assessment. Giant cysts require resection because of compressive symptoms or risk of malignancy and their management invariably requires laparotomy to prevent perforation and spillage of the cyst fluid into peritoneal cavity.

Unlabelled: This prospective study compared 177Lu-ethylene diamine tetramethylene phosphonate (EDTMP) with 153Sm-EDTMP for painful skeletal metastases.
Methods: Half of the 32 patients were treated with 177Lu-EDTMP and half with 153Sm-EDTMP, at 37 MBq/kg of body weight. Analgesic, pain, and quality-of-life scores (EORTC, Karnofsky, ECOG) and bone proliferation marker were used to examine efficacy.

Oxygen saturations were compared, 10 min before and 10, 20 and 30 min after orogastric and nasogastric feeds, in 10 stable newborns. The mean saturations were significantly lower with mere passage of nasogastric tube and continued to be so during feeds. There was no difficulty in securing the orogastric tube and no baby aspirated milk.
