Purpose: The purpose of this scoping review was to understand what is known about the friendships of individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Because communication is important to friendship, severe communication impairment may impact the establishment or maintenance of friendships in unique and important ways.

Method: Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines for scoping reviews and Covidence software using an established set of operationally defined inclusion criteria supported the identification of the 46 papers included in this review.

Methods: We studied a cohort of 109,981 thyroid cancer patients diagnosed from 2006 to 2018 using the United States Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database.

One commonly observed binding motif in metalloproteins involves the interaction between a metal ion and histidine's imidazole side chains. Although previous imidazole-M(II) parameters established the flexibility and reliability of the 12-6-4 Lennard-Jones (LJ)-type nonbonded model by simply tuning the ligating atom's polarizability, they have not been applied to multiple-imidazole complexes. To fill this gap, we systematically simulate multiple-imidazole complexes (ranging from one to six) for five metal ions (Co(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II)) which commonly appear in metalloproteins.

A decade of data and hundreds of analytes: Legacy and emerging chemicals in North American herring gull plasma.

Between 2010 and 2021, 199 herring gull serum samples were collected from Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie, including two Areas of Concern: Saginaw Bay and the River Raisin. They were analyzed for 21 polybrominated diphenyl ether congeners, 10 non-PBDE flame retardants, 85 polychlorinated biphenyls, 17 legacy organochlorine pesticides, and 36 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. ΣPFAS, ΣPCB, ΣPBDE, and ΣPesticide concentrations comprised 41-74%, 17-50%, 3-4%, and 5-9% of the total concentration, respectively.
