Physiological organ cross-talk is necessary to maintain equilibrium and homeostasis. Heart and kidney are the essences of this equilibrium. Organ failure in either of these organs can perturb the bidirectional communication between them, impinging this unpleasant vascular and cellular milieu on other distant organs.

Cardiac involvement in amyloidosis and sarcoidosis is poorly understood, and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, along with conduction defects, are frequent in cardiac amyloidosis and sarcoidosis. Atrial dysfunction in cardiac amyloidosis may result in atrial fibrillation and increases the risk of stroke, making anticoagulation significant and challenging.

Gastrointestinal bleeding due to angiodysplasia is a common problem in patients with renal insufficiency. There are several theories to explain the increased occurrence of these lesions in this specific group of patients, including various metabolic factors and existence of comorbidities. Advancements made in diagnostic measures have helped route the approach in patients with different risk factors and have also helped solve the dual purpose involving therapeutic intervention with endoscopy.

Psoriasis (PS) is an incessant, fiery skin sickness characterized by erythematous plaques with thick silvery scales, white or red patches of the skin, which encompasses several immunological, biomolecular, genetic, and environmental factors that may lead to further development of metabolic syndrome (MS) and vice versa. Metabolic syndrome is composed of multiple components (high blood pressure, abdominal obesity, glucose intolerance, and dyslipidemia) of risk factors that arise primarily from insulin resistance, mostly mediated by inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) together with leptin and adiponectin, which are molecules also found in PS. The incidence, severity, and poor prognosis of the psoriatic diseases could be influenced by cardiometabolic diseases, which are controllable or preventable with intense lifestyle modification such as diet, exercise, and weight control.
