We examined the infective capacity of the mermithid nematodes, , , , and in fourth-instar mosquito larvae nearing pupation of , , and to determine their prevalence in the adults of these mosquitoes. We exposed fourth-instar larvae to pre-parasitic nematodes (juvenile 2 stages) at a ratio of 10:1 (10 nematodes per mosquito larvae). Two days after the nematode applications, a sample of 20 pupae was taken and placed into transparent plastic cups with distilled water to observe the development and growth of pupae until they reached the adult phase with nematodes inside.

Concatemeric viral DNA is packaged into bacteriophage P22 procapsids via a headful packaging mechanism mediated by a molecular machine consisting of small (gp3) and large (gp2) terminase subunits. Although a negative stain reconstruction exists for the terminase holoenzyme, it is not clear how this complex binds the dodecameric portal protein located at a 5-fold mismatch vertex. Functional divergences of coding genes can be caused by divergences in their coding sequences and expression. However, whether and how expression divergences and coding sequence divergences coevolve is not clear. Gene expression divergences in differentiated cells and tissues recapitulate developmental models within a species, while gene expression divergences between analogous cells and tissues resemble traditional phylogenies in different species, suggesting that gene expression divergences are molecular traits that can be used for evolutionary studies.

Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is a genetic condition caused by the inheritance of alleles with >200 CGG repeats in the 5' UTR of the fragile X messenger ribonucleoprotein 1 () gene. These full mutation (FM) alleles are associated with DNA methylation and gene silencing, which result in intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and social and behavioral issues. Mosaicism for both the size of the CGG repeat tract and the extent of its methylation is commonly observed in individuals with the FM.

Image-guided mouse irradiation is essential to understand interventions involving radiation prior to human studies. Our objective is to employ Swin UNEt TRansformers (Swin UNETR) to segment native micro-CT and contrast-enhanced micro-CT scans and benchmark the results against 3D no-new-Net (nnU-Net). Swin UNETR reformulates mouse organ segmentation as a sequence-to-sequence prediction task using a hierarchical Swin Transformer encoder to extract features at five resolution levels, and it connects to a Fully Convolutional Neural Network (FCNN)-based decoder via skip connections.
