The main objective of this work was to study the possibility of using polysaccharides and lignin as a coating material for water-soluble triple superphosphate (TSP) granular fertilizers. In this study, composites based on three polysaccharides (sodium alginate (alginic acid sodium salt): AL, kappa-carrageenan: CR and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt: CM) and lignin (LG) were prepared. The lignin used was extracted from olive pomace (OP) biomass using the alkali method.

The origin of modern disjunct plant distributions in the Brazilian Highlands with strong floristic affinities to distant montane rainforests of isolated mountaintops in the northeast and northern Amazonia and the Guyana Shield remains unknown. We tested the hypothesis that these unexplained biogeographical patterns reflect former ecosystem rearrangements sustained by widespread plant migrations possibly due to climatic patterns that are very dissimilar from present-day conditions. To address this issue, we mapped the presence of the montane arboreal taxa Araucaria, Podocarpus, Drimys, Hedyosmum, Ilex, Myrsine, Symplocos, and Weinmannia, and cool-adapted plants in the families Myrtaceae, Ericaceae, and Arecaceae (palms) in 29 palynological records during Heinrich Stadial 1 Event, encompassing a latitudinal range of 30°S to 0°S.

The analysis is performed in the detector fiducial phase-space region, defined by the presence of two same-sign leptons, electron or muon, and at least two jets with a large invariant mass and rapidity difference.

The objective of this study was to investigate chemical, biological and eco-toxicological parameters of a compost produced through the co-composting of dewatered primary sludge (DPS) and date palm waste to evaluate in which extent it can exploited as a bio-fertilizer. DPS and date palm waste were co-composted in aerobic conditions for 210 days. Physico-chemical parameters were evaluated during composting (total organic carbon, total nitrogen, pH, available forms of phosphorus).

European populations display low genetic differentiation as the result of long-term blending of their ancient founding ancestries. However, it is unclear how the combination of ancient ancestries related to early foragers, Neolithic farmers, and Bronze Age nomadic pastoralists can explain the distribution of genetic variation across Europe. Populations in natural crossroads like the Italian peninsula are expected to recapitulate the continental diversity, but have been systematically understudied.

The Nedd4-1 E3 Ubiquitin ligase has been implicated in multiple disease conditions due its overexpression. Although the enzyme may be targeted both covalently and non-covalently, minimal studies provide effective inhibitors against it. Recently, research has focused on covalent inhibitors based on their characteristic, highly-selective warheads and ability to prevent drug resistance.

Covalent inhibition targeting noncatalytic residues is rapidly gaining attention in drug discovery. Protein tyrosine phosphatases 1B (PTP1B) is an attractive target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and other diseases. Two binding sites of PTP1B enzyme were identified, catalytic and allosteric.

Dark matter particles, if sufficiently light, may be produced in decays of the Higgs boson. This Letter presents a statistical combination of searches for H→invisible decays where H is produced according to the standard model via vector boson fusion, Z(ℓℓ)H, and W/Z(had)H, all performed with the ATLAS detector using 36.1 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV at the LHC.

Background: Per-partum stillbirth continues to represent a public health burden despite the efforts of countries around the world. Prevention of this mortality can only be effective with a better knowledge of factors that are life-threatening to the fetus or newborn. This work aims to determine associated factors with intrapartum and very early neonatal mortality.

The Dallol geothermal area in the northern part of the Danakil Depression (up to 124-155 meter below sea level) is deemed one of the most extreme environments on Earth. The area is notable for being part of the Afar Depression, an incipient seafloor-spreading center located at the triple junction, between Nubian, Somali and Arabian plates, and for hosting environments at the very edge of natural physical-chemical extremities. The northern part of the Danakil Depression is dominated by the Assale salt plain (an accumulation of marine evaporite deposits) and hosts the Dallol volcano.

The data used were collected by the ATLAS detector during 2015 and 2016 pp collisions with a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36.1±0.

Several deep craters (basins) in the northern equatorial regions show compelling signs that large amounts of water once existed on Mars at a planet-wide scale. The presence of water-formed features, including fluvial Gilbert and sapping deltas fed by sapping valleys, constitute strong evidence of groundwater upwelling resulting in long term standing bodies of water inside the basins.

This study aims to evaluate the extent of human papilloma virus vaccine awareness among parents of girls in vaccine age group, their acceptability of the vaccine and factors associated with refusal. We conducted a survey among parents of girls aged 8-15 years, followed-up for several diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the University Hospital Mohamed VI in Marrakech, Morocco, on parents' profile, their awareness of cancer of the cervix, HPV and HPV vaccine, the acceptance of HPV vaccine for their daughters and the arguments related to refusal. Ninety six questionnaires were included in the analysis.

Abelisaurid theropods first appear in the fossil record in the early Jurassic and survived at least until the end of the Mesozoic. They were known to have dominated South America, India and Madagascar but were not so abundant in North America or Asia. Much less is known about their presence in Africa, although there has been several recent discoveries of abelisaurid material in Morocco.

The development of covalent drugs, specifically in cancer therapeutics, has recently sparked interest among the pharmaceutical research community. While representing a significant fraction of the drugs in the market, very few have been deliberately designed to interact covalently with their biological target. One of the enzymes that have been both covalently and noncovalently targeted is the Neural Precursor Cell Expressed Developmentally Downregulated gene 4-1 (Nedd4-1).

Prolonged diapause occurs in a number of insects and is interpreted as a way to evade adverse conditions. The winter pine processionary moths ( and ) are important pests of pines and cedars in the Mediterranean region. They are typically univoltine, with larvae feeding across the winter, pupating in spring in the soil and emerging as adults in summer.

Antibiotics persistence in the primary sludge can contribute to the emergence of these molecules in the environment and limit the agricultural recycling of sludge without any preliminary treatment. Composting is a widely used process for recycling sludges and then can contribute to the antibiotics removal. However, little interest is actually given to the evaluation of the persistence of some antibiotics families after the sludge co-composting and more particularly to the final compost valorization.

Premise Of The Study: Simple sequence repeat (SSR) or microsatellite markers have been used in a broad range of studies mostly scoring alleles on the basis of amplicon size as a proxy for the number of repeat units of an SSR motif. However, additional sources of variation within the SSR or in the flanking regions have largely remained undetected.
Methods: In this study, we implemented a next-generation sequencing-based genotyping approach in a newly characterized set of 18 nuclear SSR markers for the carob tree, .

This experimental work aims at investigating the effects of milling; sieving; and electrostatic separation on the biochemical methane potential of two olive pomaces from traditional olive oil extraction (M) and from a three-phase system (T). Sieving proved to be efficient for increasing the soluble chemical oxygen demand in the smallest fractions of the sieve of both M (62%) and T (78%) samples. The positive fraction following electrostatic separation also enhanced chemical oxygen demand (COD) solubilisation by 94%, in comparison to sample T milled at 4 mm.
