Laparoscopic-assisted Resection of a Retroperitoneal Lumbar Nerve Root Neurofibroma: A Case Report.

We present a case of a 59-year-old patient with chronic low back pain, caused by a retroperitoneal intraneural tumour. Laparoscopic excision was performed and histology revealed a spinal nerve root neurofibroma. Post-operatively, the patient developed partial motor and sensitive deficits due to tumoral nerve entrapment, with progressive recovery with rehabilitation.

Surgical treatment outcomes in heavy eye syndrome - a case series.

: The study cohort comprised five patients, each presenting with unilateral high axial myopia and classic clinical features of HES, including large angle esotropia, hypotropia, and restricted abduction and supraduction. All patients displayed evident superotemporal globe prolapse on MRI imaging, corresponding to the downward displacement of the LR muscle and medial shift of the SR muscle.Following the surgical procedure, all patients demonstrated significant improvements in both vertical and horizontal deviations, effectively addressing the primary clinical manifestations of HES.

The aim of this systematic review with meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy and safety of EVT for acute PCA occlusion. PubMed, Scopus, ISI, and CENTRAL were searched for studies assessing EVT in adult patients with PCA occlusion.

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) provides a noninvasive and integrated assessment of the response of the respiratory, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal systems to exercise. This information improves the diagnosis, risk stratification, and therapeutic management of several clinical conditions. Additionally, CPET is the gold standard test for cardiorespiratory fitness quantification and exercise prescription, both in patients with cardiopulmonary disease undergoing cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation programs and in healthy individuals, such as high-level athletes.

The accreditation of sleep centres aims to ensure high-quality diagnosis and management of sleep centres. European accreditation standards were introduced in 2006, and were aimed at centres offering inpatient polysomnography and vigilance tests (Mean Sleep Latency Test and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test). Since then, the practice of sleep medicine has evolved, with greater use of ambulatory polysomnography and polygraphy.

How young radiologists use contrast media and manage adverse reactions: an international survey.

Objectives: To collect real-world data about the knowledge and self-perception of young radiologists concerning the use of contrast media (CM) and the management of adverse drug reactions (ADR).

Methods: A survey (29 questions) was distributed to residents and board-certified radiologists younger than 40 years to investigate the current international situation in young radiology community regarding CM and ADRs. Descriptive statistics analysis was performed.

Objectives: Acute spinal cord injury (SCI) can result in devastating motor, sensory, and autonomic impairment; loss of independence; and reduced quality of life. Preclinical evidence suggests that early decompression of the spinal cord may help to limit secondary injury, reduce damage to the neural tissue, and improve functional outcomes.
