To counter economic terrorism by preventing counterfeit currency, documents and high-value commercial products, new-generation security inks with multiple safety features are required. Herein, color-tunable pyrylium and pyridinium dye-encapsulated polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) colloidal microspheres are reported to exhibiting brilliant emission and photonic properties. A combination of the PMMA colloidal photonic ink having structural color variation and the dye-encapsulated colloidal photonic ink with fluorescence modulation is used for security labeling.

The rise in the global population has increased the demand for dietary food protein. Strategies to maximize agricultural and livestock outputs could strain land and freshwater supply and contribute to substantial negative environmental impacts. Consequently, there has been an emphasis on identifying alternative sources of edible proteins that are more sustainable, sustainable, ethical, and healthy.

Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) is a homodimeric enzyme that specifically targets cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), that mediates many downstream effects such as vasodilation, neurotransmission, and calcium homeostasis. Considering the functions of cGMP, inhibition of PDE5 has been established to have several therapeutic effects in disease conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases and Alzheimer's disease. Consequently, many PDE5 inhibitors were developed but with severe adverse effects such as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), priapism, etc.

Narrow band green emitting phosphors have gained widespread attention due to their application in white light emitting diode (wLED) backlight displays. Commercial backlight displays have a broad band green phosphor which limits their performance. In this work, bright, narrow and thermally stable green emitting MgGaO:Mn (MGO-Mn) has been synthesized.

Cytochrome c () released from the mitochondrion acts as a trigger for the onset of apoptosis in which a double bond of cardiolipin () is oxidized upon interaction with . To understand the interaction dynamics of with the double bond of , having acyl chains with a systematic increase in the number of double bonds, 0 (), 1 (), and 2 (), were complexed with , and their excited-state dynamics were studied using femtosecond time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy. Steady-state and femtosecond transient absorption spectra revealed a systematic increase in the partial unfolding of with an increase in double bonds in , as observed by the enhanced fluorescence intensity and lifetime of tryptophan due to variations in the resonance energy transfer and extended global conformational relaxation time constants.

The substantial build-up of non-biodegradable plastic waste from packaging sector not only poses severe environmental threats but also hastens the depletion of natural petroleum-based resources. Presently, poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxy valerate) (PHBV), received enormous attention as ideal alternatives for such traditional petroleum-derived plastics based on their biocompatibility and superior mechanical properties. However, high cost of such copolymer, due to expensive nature of feedstock, inefficient microbial processes and unfavorable downstream processing strategies restricts its large-scale commercial feasibility in the packaging sector.
