Although cesium halide lead (CsPbX, X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have excellent photovoltaic properties, their unstable characteristics are major limitations to application. Previous research has demonstrated that the core-shell structure can significantly improve the stability of CsPbX QDs and form heterojunctions at interfaces, enabling multifunctionalization of perovskite materials. In this article, we propose a convenient method to construct core-shell-structured perovskite materials, in which CsPbBr@CsPbBr core-shell micrometer crystals can be prepared by controlling the ratio of Cs/Pb in the precursor and the reaction time.

In this work, four fluorinated α, β-unsaturated ketones named as 3-(3-bromophenyl)-1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (1), 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl) prop-2-en-1-one (2), 3-(3-bromo-5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl) prop-2-en-1-one (3) and 3-(2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (4) were synthesized by Claisen-Schmidt reaction. The synthesized molecules were then characterized through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), H-NMR, C-NMR, and mass spectrometry. The antioxidant potential, Urease inhibition, and interaction of compounds 1-4 with Salmon sperm DNA were experimentally explored and supported by molecular docking studies.

The inherent single narrow emission peak and fast anion exchange process of cesium lead halide perovskite CsPbX (X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals severely limited its application in white light-emitting diodes. Previous studies have shown that composite structures can passivate surface defects of NCs and improve the stability of perovskite materials, but complex post-treatment processes commonly lead to dissolution of NCs. In this study, CsPb(Cl/Br) NCs was in-situ grown in TiO hollow shells doped with Eu ions by a modified thermal injection method to prepare CsPb(Cl/Br)/TiO:Eu composites with direct excitation of white light without additional treatment.

Lead-free double perovskites (DP) have the potential to become a rising star in the next generation of lighting markets by addressing the toxicity and instability issues associated with traditional lead-based perovskites. However, high concentrations of hydrochloric acid (HCl) were often employed as a solvent in the preparation of most DPs, accompanied by slow crystallization at high temperatures, which not only raised the risk and cost in the preparation process, but also had a potential threat to the environment. Here, an in situ fabrication strategy was proposed to realize the crystallization of DP in the polymer at low temperature with a mild dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent, and subsequently obtained optically well-behaved CsNaAgBiCl/PMMA composite films (CFs) by doping with Ag, generating bright orange luminescence with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of up to 21.

Infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria are major health concerns worldwide. We successfully synthesized cephradine gold nanoparticles (Ceph-Au NPs) and cephradine silver nanoparticles (Ceph-Ag NPs) and compared their efficacy against resistant human pathogens. X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) results showed that average particle size of Ceph-Au NPs and Ceph-Ag NPs were 7 and 12 nm, respectively.

The working stability of perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has become an urgent bottleneck to be solved in the process of commercialization. Although lead halide perovskite CsPbX (X = Br, I, Cl) quantum dots (QDs) are considered rising stars in the lighting market owing to their excellent optoelectronic properties, they suffer from fluorescence quenching under thermal conditions. Unfortunately, the surfaces of electronic devices inevitably warm up under long-term energization, which is extremely detrimental to the appropriate functioning of CsPbX QDs.

In this study, brominated flame retardants (BFRs), phthalates, and organophosphate flame retardants (PFRs) were analyzed in indoor household dust collected during the COVID-19 related strict lockdown (April-July 2020) period. Floor dust samples were collected from 40 households in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The levels of most of the analyzed chemicals were visibly high and for certain chemicals multifold high in analyzed samples compared to earlier studies on indoor dust from Jeddah.

A combination product of aripiprazole (antipsychotic) and divalproex sodium (mood stabilizer) was recently developed to establish their tolerability and safety in fixed dose combination (FDC). A pilot pharmacokinetic (PK) open-labeled parallel study on healthy human volunteers was carried out to assess the PK of FDC of aripiprazole/divalproex sodium in comparison with its individual components with a view to rationalize therapeutic regimen and potentially improve compliance of bipolar patients in future. A total of 24 volunteers were randomized to aripiprazole 5mg, divalproex sodium 500mg, and FDC (aripiprazole/divalproex sodium 5/500 mg) enteric-coated tablets.

This work presents the enhancement of oil biodegradation in seawater using a mixture of oil and microorganisms. Retardation of crude oil biodegradation in seawater is hypothetically due to the inhibiting of metabolites produced by the oil bacterium which inhibit its enzymes. For this purpose, the bacteria consortium consisting of an active oil-oxidizing bacterium (AR3-Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes) and two oil-resistant and active heterotrophic bacteria (OG1 and OG2-Erythrobacter citreus) were formed.
