Background: Patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) represents a challenging subset of population as they experience worse outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention than patients without diabetes. We evaluated the 2-year efficacy and safety profile of the Abluminus DES+ in patients with diabetes within the population enrolled in the large multicenter en-ABL e-registry.
Methods: Multicenter, prospective, all-comers registry performed in 31 centers in India.

Severe thalassemia syndromes (ST) are highly curable by bone marrow transplant (BMT), but rejection may still occur. We retrospectively analyzed our fully matched related donor transplants to establish if isolated splenomegaly is an independent risk factor for rejection and if this risk can be reduced by modifying the conditioning protocol. In this study, we compared rejection rates between patients with and without splenomegaly in 189 consecutive low-risk ST transplants across 2 sequential conditioning regimens: regimen A (August 2013 to December 2016): busulfan (14 mg/kg oral, not adjusted to serum levels), cyclophosphamide (200 mg/kg), and anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) (Genzyme (Sanofi, Paris, France) 4 mg/kg or Fresenius (Grafalon, Neovii Biotech GmbH, Gräfelfing Germany) 16 mg/kg on days -12 to -10), and regimen B: same backbone as regimen A except fludarabine total dose of 150 mg was added upfront and ATG dose was increased to 7 mg/kg in case of splenomegaly and/or sex-mismatched transplants (January 2017 to September 2018).

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) with drug-eluting stent placement is a well-established treatment modality for coronary stenotic lesions. Although infection involving implanted stent is rare, it can occur at any point of time, leading to high morbidity and mortality. We describe a rare case of infected coronary stents complicated with recurrent stent thrombosis, sepsis, and myocardial abscess formation after 2 years of percutaneous cornary intervention (PCI).

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has been shown to improve mortality, reduce hospitalizations, and improve symptoms in selected patients with HF. The South Asian Systolic Heart Failure Registry (SASHFR) was designed to be a large and comprehensive registry of Indian HF patients with the purpose of enhancing the quality of care and clinical outcomes of HF patients by promoting the adoption of evidence-based, guideline-recommended therapies, in particular CRT.

Objective: Chronic symptomatic sinus node dysfunction (SND), the most common bradyarrhythmia, can be effectively managed by permanent cardiac pacing. Yet the care pathway and barriers to adoption of pacing therapy are not well understood - particularly in low volume implanting countries. The IMPROVE Brady study is a quality improvement initiative being conducted at centers in South Asia, Latin America, and Russia.
