Accurately predicting future carbon emissions is of great significance for the government to scientifically promote carbon emission reduction policies. Among the current technologies for forecasting carbon emissions, the most prominent ones are econometric models and deep learning, but few works have systematically compared and analyzed the forecasting performance of the methods. Therefore, the paper makes a comparison for deep learning model, machine learning model, and the econometric model to demonstrate whether deep learning is an efficient method for carbon emission prediction research.

To explore the impact of new urbanization development on industrial water utilization efficiency, the epsilon-based measure model and the entropy method were used to calculate the industrial water utilization efficiency and the development of new urbanization based on the panel data of 30 provincial cities in China from 2011 to 2020. Then the spatial Durbin and the panel threshold models were constructed to explore the spatial spillover and threshold effects of new urbanization development on industrial water utilization efficiency. The results show that there are large regional differences in the development of new urbanization and industrial water utilization efficiency.

Due to a series of societal factors, management of small rural water resources projects in China experience management problems. Based on the management mode of small water resources projects in three representative regions of Guangdong Province, the improved TOPSIS model is applied to evaluate the performance of management mode of small water resources projects through the combination with entropy weight method. Compared with the traditional TOPSIS model concerning the evaluation object of this paper, the evaluation value formulas of optimal and worst solutions of TOPSIS method are improved.

A major strategy for addressing the imbalance in source-network-load distribution is interprovincial electricity transmission; however, this process also causes various environmental effects. Previous studies have mainly examined thermal power transmission, and few insights have been gained into the challenges hydroelectricity transmission poses for biodiversity conservation. Here, we innovatively incorporated the freshwater species diversity footprint into a hydropower environmental impact assessment, calculating the interprovincial transfer of freshwater species diversity embodied in hydroelectricity transmission.

China's carbon emission trading market has gradually attracted worldwide attention. In this paper, a structural VAR model and Shenzhen, a typical city in China, are selected to study the dynamic relationships between China's carbon emission rights price, energy prices, macroeconomic level, and weather conditions. Shanghai crude oil futures, the first crude oil futures contract in China, is used to describe changes in oil market as a substitute for Daqing crude oil price.

With in-depth development of industrialization and urbanization in China, improving the professional skills and quality of migrant workers in the construction industry has become an important measure to optimize the labor force structure and promote the industry upgrading. Numerous studies have been carried out on this topic, and construction industrial workers with high skills level and professional quality have replaced the professional identity of migrant workers. However, the psychological cognitive mechanism of migrant workers' occupational role enhancement behavior has not been fully revealed.

Driven by the global net-zero carbon emission goal, even though the impact of hydropower on river ecosystems cannot be ignored, hydropower scale and intensity will be expanded in Southwest China (SC). Therefore, the trade-off between hydroelectricity generation and ecological protection remains an issue requiring urgent attention at the moment. This paper proposes an eco-efficiency (EE) indicator system of hydropower adopting the water consumption of hydropower product (PWC), labor, and capital as inputs and the power generation, ecological flow deviation (EFD) as outputs and then explores the factors influencing the EE value of hydropower in SC.

To reduce the inpatient mortality and improve the quality of hospital management, we explore the relationship between temperatures and in-hospital mortality in a large sample across 10 years in Nanjing, Jiangsu. We collected 10 years' data on patient deaths from a large research hospital. Distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to find the association between daily mean temperatures and in-hospital mortality.

Competitive intelligence (CI) has attracted much attention in innovation research, but most of existing literature studies CI in technological innovations in manufacturing industry, with little empirical research in context of service businesses. This paper first analyzes CI of service businesses and then uses covariance-based structural equation modeling (SEM) on a data of 333 got from the survey in tourism enterprises of east China to test the effect of customer CI, opponent CI, and supplier CI on service innovations in China's service industry. Results show that opponent CI and supplier CI have positive influence on both exploratory and exploitative service innovation.

The River Chief Policy (RCP) is an innovative water resource management system in China aimed at managing water pollution and improving water quality. Though the RCP has been piloted in some river basins of China, few scholars have studied the effects of the policy. We built a differential game model under random interference factors to compare the water pollution in Chaohu Lake under the RCP and without the RCP, and we explored the conditions to ensure the effectiveness of the RCP.

Objective: Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), a natural–focal infectious disease caused by hantaviruses, resulted in 37 deaths between 2011 and 2015 in Hubei Province, China. HFRS outbreaks are seasonally distributed, exhibiting heterogeneity in space and time. We aimed to identify the spatial and temporal characteristics of HFRS epidemics and their probable influencing factors.

Two dimensional (2D) supramolecular crystal engineering, one of the most important strategies towards nanotechnology, is both a science and an industry. In the present review, the recent advances in 2D supramolecular crystal engineering through chirality manipulation on solid surfaces are summarized, with the aid of the scanning tunneling microscopy technique. On-surface chirality manipulation includes surface confined structural chirality formation, chirality transformation, chirality separation as well as chirality elimination, by using component exchange and different external stimuli.

Owing to the widespread use of bisphenol analogues (BPs) as substitutes for bisphenol A (BPA), the presence of BPs in multiple environments is of increasing concern. However, there is a limited understanding of the effects of colloids on the distribution and risk assessment of BPs traditionally dissolved in surface water. In this study, seven BPs were investigated in both the truly dissolved (<5 kDa) and colloidal (5 kDa to 1 μm) phases with water, with mean concentrations in the range of 71.

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a naturally-occurring, fecally transmitted disease caused by a Hantavirus (HV). It is extremely damaging to human health and results in many deaths annually, especially in Hubei Province, China. One of the primary characteristics of HFRS is the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of its occurrence, with notable seasonal differences.

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is considered a globally distributed infectious disease which results in many deaths annually in Hubei Province, China. In order to conduct a better analysis and accurately predict HFRS incidence in Hubei Province, a new model named Seasonal Difference-Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression (SD-GTWR) was constructed. The SD-GTWR model, which integrates the analysis and relationship of seasonal difference, spatial and temporal characteristics of HFRS (HFRS was characterized by spatiotemporal heterogeneity and it is seasonally distributed), was designed to illustrate the latent relationships between the spatio-temporal pattern of the HFRS epidemic and its influencing factors.
