Bowing fractures are incomplete fractures of tubular long bones, often observed in pediatric patients, where plain radiographic film is the non-invasive imaging modality of choice in routine radiological workflow. Due to weak association between bent bone and distinct cortex disruption, bowing fractures may not be diagnosed properly while reading plain radiography. Missed fractures and dislocations are common in accidents and emergency practice, particularly in children.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hypothermia (H) on skeletal ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury in rats by measuring malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), nitric oxide (NO), and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) in muscle, and measureing immunohistochemical-inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) staining of skeletal muscle.
Materials And Methods: Eighteen Wistar Albino rats were divided randomly into three groups (sham, IR, hypothermia) (n=6). The sham group had all procedures without the IR period.

Nineteen important reasons (as regards general advantages, specific conditions in physical and rehabilitation medicine, as well as comparisons with other imaging tools) have been highlighted to consolidate the scenario of how/why the probe of ultrasound needs to become the stethoscope, the extended hand, and the pen of physiatrists.
