Introduction: Attachment style has been associated with socio-emotional outcomes, however little evidence suggests a possible association with executive functioning. Few studies have demonstrated that attachment style mediates working memory and learning relationships. We hypothesized that attachment style affects performance and cortical activity patterns of working memory.

Background: Despite its advantages over other antipsychotics, for treatment-resistant schizophrenia, clinical use of Clozapine (CLZ) is challenging by its narrow therapeutic index and potentially life-threatening dose-related adverse effects.

Research Design And Methods: As the potential role in CLZ metabolism is assigned to CYP1A2 enzyme and consequently Cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase (POR) their genetic variations might help to determine CLZ levels in schizophrenia patients. For this purpose, 112 schizophrenia patients receiving CLZ were included in the current study.

Background: The study aimed to assess the impact of percutaneous transcatheter atrial septal defect (ASD) closure on atrium and atrial appandage functions among patients with ostium secundum ASDs.

Methods: A total of 101 patients (34,7% male, 65,3% female, 37,6 ± 12) with the diagnosis of ostium secundum type ASD underwent transthorasic (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) before and six months after percutaneous transcatheter ASD closure. Pulmonary venous flow and atrial appendage flow velocities were obtained from the TEE recordings.

Article Synopsis
  • - Antibiotic-associated diarrhea is a common side effect of antimicrobial therapy, and a study was conducted to examine its prevalence among pediatric patients in a specific region.
  • - The study involved 758 pediatric patients who started oral antibiotics, revealing a 10.4% occurrence rate of diarrhea associated with antibiotic use, particularly higher with cephalosporins and in certain geographic areas of Turkey.
  • - The findings highlighted geographic differences in the rate of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, suggesting that while it's not extremely common, it can vary significantly based on location and type of antibiotic used.

Background: Harris hip score (HHS), modified HHS (MHHS), and Oxford hip score (OHS) were designed to determine the functional outcomes after primary total hip arthroplasty (THA). The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between MHHS, HHS, and OHS in different populations of arthroplasty such as primary THA, revision THA, THA for Crowe Type IV developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), and hip hemiarthroplasty (HA).

Methods: A total of 399 patients (254 females and 145 males) that included 128 cases of primary THA, 36 of revision THA, 200 of HA, and 35 of THA with femoral shortening osteotomy with a minimum of 24 months of follow-up were included.

Purpose: To compare clinical, functional, and radiological outcomes in patients with bicondylar tibial fractures treated with either double-plate or Ilizarov external fixation.

Methods: Patients with Schatzker type 5 and 6 tibial plateau fractures who were treated with double-plate (Group O) and Ilizarov external fixations (Group E) between March 2012 and April 2018 were selected. Demographic data and preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative variables were analyzed and compared.

Objective: To report the results of patients with short oblique diaphyseal tibia fractures treated with minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO). The secondary aim was to understand the effect of fracture location (midshaft or distal 1/3) on outcomes.

Methods: Twenty-eight patients with short oblique (>30°) tibial shaft fractures (AO/OTA 42A2) treated with plate and MIPO technique between 2015 and 2019 were retrospectively assessed.

Introduction Periarticular fractures of the knee in adults are generally treated with internal fixation. The Less Invasive Stabilization System (LISS) plate, developed by Arbeitsgemeinschaft Osteosynthesefragen (AO)/Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (ASIF) in the late 1990s, allows reduction and biological fixation through smaller incisions without violating periosteal blood supply. It offers several advantages for the treatment of complex periarticular fractures of the knee.

Objectives: Acute otitis media (AOM) is predominantly a disease of childhood and one of the common reasons for prescribing antibiotics. Ear pain is the main symptom of AOM, with the result that parents frequently seek immediate medical assistance for their children. Uterine rupture during pregnancy is associated with high mortality and morbidity rates in both the fetus and the mother. Hysteroscopic surgeries such as myomectomy and septum resection are known risk factors for uterine rupture in pregnancy following the operation. We present four infertile patients who were admitted to Kocaeli Medical Park Hospital between February 2014 and November 2016.

In our patient, a bicuspid aortic valve and an ascending aortic aneurysm were other underlying anomalies that could have led to the aortic dissection.
