Background: There are currently no specific tools available to assess self-efficacy among Vietnamese individuals with colorectal cancer (CRC) post-surgery. Translating and evaluating the psychometric properties of the New General Self-Efficacy Scale (NGSE) for use in the Vietnamese population could help address this gap.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Vietnamese version of the NGSE scale.

The family Cyprinidae is the largest freshwater fish group with 377 genera and over 3,000 described species. However, this group of fish has very limited cytogenetics and advanced molecular cytogenetics information. Therefore, in this study the karyotypes and other chromosomal characteristics of 15 species in the tribe Systomini (Cyprininae) were examined using Ag-NOR staining along with fluorescence in situ hybridization (5S and 18S rDNA).

Three naturally occurring prenylated pyranocoumarins, nordentatin (1), dentatin (2), and clausarin (3), isolated from the roots of Clausena excavata (Family Rutaceae), and O-methylclausarin (4) which was obtained by methylation of 3, were investigated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. The mechanism of action and the in silico prediction of their physicochemical and ADMET properties as well as the molecular docking were also studied. Compounds 1-4 exhibited stronger α-glucosidase inhibitory activity than the positive control, acarbose, through a non-competitive mechanism.

Background: Over the past decade, there has been extensive research exploring the relationship between vascular health and mental well-being, encompassing aspects such as mood and cognition. However, there is a notable gap in research focusing on the mental and vascular conditions of minor ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) patients, particularly within the Thai population.
Objectives: To investigate the clinical characteristics and mental issues related to vascular functions in patients who have experienced a minor ischemic stroke or TIA.

Surgical treatment of tracheal diseases, trauma, and congenital stenosis has shown success through tracheal reconstruction coupled with palliative care. However, challenges in surgical-based tracheal repairs have prompted the exploration of alternative approaches for tracheal replacement. Tissue-based treatments, involving the cultivation of patient cells on a network of extracellular matrix (ECM) from donor tissue, hold promise for restoring tracheal structure and function without eliciting an immune reaction.

Introduction: This study aims to develop a web application, TB-DRD-CXR, for the categorization of tuberculosis (TB) patients into subgroups based on their level of drug resistance. The application utilizes an ensemble deep learning model that classifies TB strains into five subtypes: drug sensitive tuberculosis (DS-TB), drug resistant TB (DR-TB), multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), pre-extensively drug-resistant TB (pre-XDR-TB), and extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB).
Methods: The ensemble deep learning model employed in the TB-DRD-CXR web application incorporates novel fusion techniques, image segmentation, data augmentation, and various learning rate strategies.

A large amount of agricultural waste was used to prepare cellulose (Cel) and then the surface was modified with PEI (Cel-PEI) using the microwave method. To be used as a metal adsorbent, the adsorption of Cr (VI) from an aqueous solution by Cel-PEI was measured using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques. The parameters of Cr (VI) adsorption in solution by the Cel-PEI adsorbent were as follows: the pH of the solution was 3, the concentration of the chromium solution was 100 mg/L, and the adsorption time was 180 min at 30 °C using 0.

A novel tungsten disulfide-molybdenum copper oxide composite supported with graphene quantum dots (WM@GQDs) has been synthesized as a counter electrode (CE) for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) using a simple and low-cost ultrasonication method. The unique structure of WM@GQDs exhibits excellent power conversion efficiency due to its high catalytic activity and charge transport properties. In addition, the graphene quantum dots (GQDs) provide more active sites in the zero-dimensional materials for an I/I redox reaction which can improve the electrical and optical properties of the composite.

The representatives of cyprinid lineage 'Poropuntiinae' with 16 recognized genera and around 100 species form a significant part of Southeast Asian ichthyofauna. Cytogenetics are valuable when studying fish evolution, especially the dynamics of repetitive DNAs, such as ribosomal DNAs (5S and 18S) and microsatellites, that can vary between species. Here, karyotypes of seven 'poropuntiin' species, namely , , , , , , and occurring in Thailand were examined using conventional and molecular cytogenetic protocols.

A person infected with drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) is the one who does not respond to typical TB treatment. DR-TB necessitates a longer treatment period and a more difficult treatment protocol. In addition, it can spread and infect individuals in the same manner as regular TB, despite the fact that early detection of DR-TB could reduce the cost and length of TB treatment.

Novel MoWO with ZnO nanoflowers was synthesized on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MW-Z@MWCNTs) through a simple hydrothermal method, and this unique structure was applied as a counter electrode (CE) for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) for the first time. The synergetic effect of ZnO nanoflowers and MoWO on MWCNTs was systematically investigated by different techniques. The amount of MWCNTs was optimized to achieve the best DSSC performance.

Cartilage has a limited inherent healing capacity after injury, due to a lack of direct blood supply and low cell density. Tissue engineering in conjunction with biomaterials holds promise for generating cartilage substitutes that withstand stress in joints. A major challenge of tissue substitution is creating a functional framework to support cartilage tissue formation.

We describe a method for permitting efficient modification by transglucosidase (TGA), from glycoside hydrolase family 31 (GH31), sequentially after the pre-treatment by maltogenic α-amylases (MA) from GH13. TGA treatment without MA pre-treatment had negligible effects on native starch, while TGA treatment with MA pre-treatment resulted in porous granules and increased permeability to enzymes. MA→TGA treatments lead to decreased molecular size of amylopectin molecules, increased α-1,6 branching, and increased amounts of amylopectin chains with the degree of polymerization (DP)<10 and decreased amounts of DP 10-28 after debranching.

Effects of different pre-treatments of granular rice starch using ethanol (ET) and maltogenic α-amylase (MA), separately or combined sequentially ET→MA, were performed to enable efficient subsequent modification with branching enzyme (BE). The pre-treated samples were characterized with respect to morphology, molecular structure, physicochemical properties and the rate of digestion to amylolytic enzymes. MA produced pores and also eroded the granular surface whereas ET caused coapted granules, noticeable swelling but no pores.

8-Oxo-7,8-dihydro-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-oxo-dG), an oxidized form of guanosine residues, is a critical biomarker for various cancers. Herein, a sensitive citrate-capped gold nanoparticle-based aptasensor device has been developed for the detection of 8-oxo-dG in urine. We previously designed a 38-nt anti-8-oxo-dG-aptamer by a computer simulation and the experimental validation has been performed in the present work.

Due to the large surface area and unique electronic property, single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is being used for adsorption and detection nanomaterials, which can be used to reduce the CO pollution effect on the environment. In the present work, the adsorptions of single and multiple CO molecules on pristine and transition metal (TM = Fe-, Ru-, and Os)-doped SWCNT were investigated in terms of geometric, energetic, and electronic properties using density functional theory calculation. Calculated results display that the adsorption of CO molecule on the SWCNTs is energetically favorable.
