The article presents theses of the resolution of the Interdisciplinary Council of Experts in Psychiatry and Neurology (Moscow, 2024) on the issue of comorbid anxiety disorders (AD) in patients with neurological pathologies. The authors highlight the high prevalence of comorbid ADs and their significant negative impact on the course of underlying diseases, such as epilepsy, pain syndromes and post-stroke conditions. Modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of ADs in this group of patients are discussed.

The heterocyclic core of imidazo[1,2-]pyrimidine was formed in satisfactory yields as a result of the interaction of the readily available 2-aminoimidazole with -substituted maleimides or -arylitaconimides. The mechanism of the studied processes was postulated basing on experimental data, HPLC-MS analysis of reaction mixtures, and quantum chemical calculations. Molecular docking results of the obtained imidazo[1,2-]pyrimidines, when compared with voriconazole, a drug already in clinical use, suggest that they may possess antifungal activity against .

The study assessed the severity of inflamaging, lipid peroxidation, as well as the state of antioxidant protection in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), depending on the ischemic stroke (IS). A prospective cohort study included 138 elderly patients (mean age 68±4 years). Of these, the 1st (control) group consisted of 30 people who did not have established COPD and cardiovascular diseases comparable in gender and age to the patients of the main group.

Molecular hydrogen (H) has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fibrotic effects. In a rat model simulating pulmonary fibrotic changes induced by monocrotaline-induced pulmonary hypertension (MPH), we had previously explored the impact of inhaled H on lung inflammation and blood pressure. In this study, we further focused the biological effects of H on mast cells (MCs) and the parameters of the fibrotic phenotype of the local tissue microenvironment.

The review is devoted to transgastric necrectomy in the treatment of infected forms of acute pancreatitis. The authors discuss the indications for transgastric necrectomy and technical features of these interventions (direct endoscopic necrectomy, laparoscopic and open transgastric necrectomy). Numerous studies devoted to results of transgastric necrectomy indicate advisability of this procedure in carefully selected patients and interdisciplinary interaction of various specialists before and after surgery.

Activated neutrophils release neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), complex structures composed of extracellular genetic material and proteins sourced from the nucleus, granules, and cytoplasm in response to pathogenic inflammatory conditions. These NETs play a crucial role in the host's innate immune defense against invasive infections. Notably, in conditions like atherosclerosis, these extracellular formations can also be elicited by inflammatory stimuli such as lipids, prothrombotic factors, platelet aggregation, or proinflammatory cytokines.

Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a hereditary condition accompanied by disorders in the structural and regulatory properties of connective tissue, including elastic fibers, due to a mutation in the gene encodes for fibrillin-1 protein (FBN1 gene) and the synthesis of abnormal fibrillin-1 glycoprotein. Despite the high potential of mast cells (MCs) to remodel the extracellular matrix (ECM), their pathogenetic significance in MFS has not been considered yet. The group of patients with Marfan syndrome included two mothers and five children (three girls aged 4, 11, and 11 and two boys aged 12 and 13).

Chronic kidney disease is detected in 8-15% of the world's population. Along with fibrotic changes, it can lead to a complete loss of organ function. Therefore, a better understanding of the onset of the pathological process is required.

Visual impairment due to ophthalmological diseases significantly affects functional activity in everyday life, since good eyesight is crucial in daily activities. Data from 837 respondents were studied, allowing for analysis of such medical and demographic indicators as age, gender, level of education, visual acuity arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. To measure functional status, the main activities in daily life (ADL) and instrumental activities in daily life (IADL) were evaluated using a modified version of the Katz scale and the IADL OARS scale.

Unlabelled: To date, treatment of chordomas involves maximal tumor resection followed by proton therapy. Various approaches are used depending on location of tumor (transcranial and through natural anatomical openings (nose, mouth), as well as their combinations). Although transoral approach has been introduced into neurosurgical practice for a long time, it is routinely used in patients with chordoma only in certain hospitals in the world.

Infertility is an important personal and society disease, of which the male factor represents half of all causes. One of the aspects less studied in male infertility is the immunological testicular microenvironment. Mast cells (MCs), having high potential for regulating spermatogenesis due to fine-tuning the state of the integrative buffer metabolic environment, are one of the most crucial cellular subpopulations of the testicular interstitium.

The mechanisms of the pathogenesis of neck paraganglioma (PGL) and the possible role of mast cells (MCs) in its development and metastasis are still poorly understood. We analyzed MCs' morphologic characterization, activation, and the properties of their cytoplasmic/released granules in PGLs, using light and transmission electron microscopy. Paragangliomas showed a large tumor-associated MC population both in the connective tissue layers of the tumor and between the tumor cells.

We already know from various literature sources that the causes for stent restenosis in patients are both mechanical damage (partial opening, stent breakage, extended stented area, calcification, incomplete stent coverage of atherosclerotic plaque, weak radial stiffness of the stent metal frame, lack of stent drug coating), and the neointimal hyperplasia formation which is closely related to the de novo atherosclerosis development, being a predictor of the recurrent cardiovascular event.

The digestive organs are highly sensitive to the influence of orbital flight factors and can limit the professional activities of crew members aboard the International Space Station. Connective tissue, as a system-forming matrix of the integrative-buffer metabolic environment, is of particular relevance in space biomedicine, ensuring the functioning of internal organs under an altered gravitational stimulus. However, the adaptive mechanisms of the fibrous extracellular matrix of the gastric and intestinal connective tissue have not been fully investigated under prolonged microgravity weightlessness.

Hydrogen has been shown to exhibit selective antioxidant properties against hydroxyl radicals, and exerts antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. The monocrotaline-induced model of pulmonary hypertension is suitable for studying substances with antioxidant activity because oxidative stress is induced by monocrotaline. On day 1, male Wistar rats were subcutaneously injected with a water-alcohol solution of monocrotaline or a control with an only water-alcohol solution.
