Objective: Primary hypophysitis might be challenging to diagnose, and there is a lack of evidence regarding optimal treatment strategies due to rarity of the disease. We aim to investigate the clinical features and compare the outcomes of different management strategies of primary hypophysitis in a large group of patients recruited on a nationwide basis.
Design: A retrospective observational study.

Background: Patients diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) syndrome have a tendency towards hypoventilation, hypoxia, and hypercarbia in the perioperative period. This study hypothesized that the Oxygen Reserve Index (ORi) could predict possible hypoxia and determine difficult airways in patients at risk for OSA, as determined by the STOP-Bang questionnaire.
Methods: This prospective study included adult patients undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation, divided into two groups: low risk (0-2 points) and high risk (3-8 points) based on their STOP-Bang questionnaire results.

Purpose: In our study, we aimed to show the efficiency of diffusion-weighted images at different -values and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in the differentiation of recurrent tumours from post-treatment tissue changes.
Material And Methods: The conventional and diffusion magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of 42 patients operated for soft tissue sarcomas between June 2012 and March 2015 followed up with MRIs that were evaluated by 2 radiologists retrospectively. Diffusion MRIs were acquired at 4 different -values (50, 400, 800, 1000 s/mm).

Unlabelled: Severe combined immunodeficiency is an inborn error of immunity characterized by impairments in the numbers and functions of T and B lymphocytes due to various genetic causes, and if it remains untreated, patients succumb to infections during the first 2 years of life.
Purpose And Methods: This study reported retrospective data from 72 infants diagnosed with SCID including their major clinical features, HSCT characteristics, and outcomes over a 20-year period (1997-2017).
Results: Sixty-one of 72 SCID patients in the study underwent HSCT from 1997 to 2017.

Objective: Sulphur, similar to phosphorus, is easily attached to organic compounds. The inadequate elimination of sulphate may cause high sulphate concentrations in hemodialysis (HD) patients because sulphate is low in free form in plasma. Although we are well aware of the accumulation of phosphorus in chronic dialysis patients, we do not have an adequate knowledge database about the sulphur compounds.

Background And Objectives: Serious functional and structural alterations of gastrointestinal tract are observed in failure of blood supply, leading to gastrointestinal dismotility. Activation of opioid receptors provides cardioprotective effect against ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. The aim of the present study was to determine whether or not remifentanil could reduce I/R injury of small intestine.

Objectives: Resveratrol appears to have neuroprotective potential in various animal models of brain disorders including cerebral ischemia and neurodegenerative diseases. Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion is a well-known pathological condition contributing to the neurodegenerative diseases such as vascular dementia. Purpose of the present study is to evaluate the possible therapeutic potential of resveratrol in a model of vascular dementia of ovariectomized female rats.

Background: Spironolactone (Sp), a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, protects against the ischemia reperfusion (IR) injury of retina, kidney, heart, and brain. We aimed to investigate the effects of Sp on intestinal IR injury.
Methods: Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into: (1) a sham control group; (2) an IR control group, subjected to 30 min ischemia and 3 h reperfusion; (3) a group treated with Sp (20 mg/kg) for 3 d before the IR; and (4) a sham-operated control group treated with Sp (20 mg/kg).

Introduction: Acute kidney injury (AKI) may result in complete recovery in some of the patients and partial recovery in others. AKI episodes may accelerate the progression to chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal failure, while risk for morbidity and mortality is high following AKI. Discharge of patients from the hospital, independently from dialysis is a crucial outcome.
