Purpose: This study compares the effectiveness of various approaches to improvement of ocular surface condition in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) patients with dry eye syndrome (DES) and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Material And Methods: The study included 48 patients with stage II POAG, compensated with a fixed-combinations of dorzolamide and timolol (FC-DT) containing benzalkonium chloride (BAC), in the presence of DES and MGD. After randomization, patients in group 1 (=24) received FC-DT without BAC along with eyelid hygiene ("Blepharogel cleansing", "Blepharolotion", "Blepharogel-1"), while patients in group 2 received only FC-DT without BAC.

Since suppressor/enhancer of Lin-12-like (SEL1L) was cloned in 1997, various pieces of evidence from lower species suggest it plays a significant role in protein degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system. The relevance of SEL1L in many aspects of malignant transformation and tumorigenic events has been the subject of research, which has shown compelling in vitro and in vivo findings relating its altered expression to changes in tumor aggressiveness. The Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) in tumor cells is crucial for preserving cellular proteostasis by inducing the unfolded protein response (UPR), a stress response.

The selective and sensitive diagnosis of diseases is a significant matter in the early stages of the cure of illnesses. To elaborate, although several types of probes have been broadly applied in clinics, magnetic nanomaterials-aptamers, as new-generation probes, are becoming more and more attractive. The presence of magnetic nanomaterials brings about quantification, purification, and quantitative analysis of biomedical, especially in complex samples.

Purpose: The study comparatively evaluates the effectiveness of various approaches to acaricidal treatment in patients with chronic demodex blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunctions.
Material And Methods: The study included 40 patients with chronic blepharitis (CB) of demodicosis etiology in conditions of meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and dry eye (DE). The 1 group of patients (20 people) received acaricidal treatment as part of therapeutic eyelid hygiene (TEH; 2 times a day) involving the use of «Blefarogel ochishchenie», «Blefarolosion», «Blefarogel forte» (contains sulfur and metronidazole).

Background: Multi Drugs Resistance (MDR) is among the most worrisome healthcare issues resulting from inappropriate and indiscriminate utilization of antimicrobial agents which has compromised the efficacy and reliability of antimicrobial agents (AMAs). This has not only put a huge burden on the health care system but also is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. This project was designed to evaluate the prevalence of various microbial strains among patients admitted to various teaching hospitals and to assess their susceptibility and resistance towards clinically approved antibiotics.

The current work examined the pharmacological potential of a selected flavanone derivative 2-hydroxyflavanone as a promising remedy for the treatment and management of pain. The selected flavanone derivative (2-HF) was evaluated for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory potentials following standard pharmacological protocols including hot plate, acetic acid-induced writhing and tail immersion tests. Naloxone and pentylenetetrazol were used to evaluate the potential implication of GABAergic and opioidergic mechanisms.

Purpose: Gastric ulcer induced by NSAIDs is the major medical concern and researchers are utilizing several approaches to combat this medical issue. In the current study, we investigated the efficacy of thiadiazinethione derivative (2,2'(2-thioxo-1,3,5-thiadiazinane-3,5-diyl) diacetic acid, as new less ulcerogenic compound.
Methods: 2,2'(2-thioxo-1,3,5-thiadiazinane-3,5-diyl) diacetic acid was evaluated using standard animal models including hot plate, writhing test and formalin induced nociceptive models.

The effectiveness of neurometabolic therapy in patients with various stages of discirculatory encephalopathy was assessed according to the severity of cognitive impairment. Using a number of studies [clock drawing test, MMSE, Spielberger-Hanin, Bourdon test and cognitive evoked potentials (P300 peak)], cognitive functions of 60 elderly patients (mean age - 61,3±12,4 years) with various degrees of chronic head ischemia were analyzed brain and discirculatory encephalopathy of the I-III stages. Depending on the treatment regimen, patients were divided into 2 groups: 34 (the main group) received Cytoflavin in the treatment regimen: 2 tablets 2 times/day for 2 months.
