Limited ankle dorsiflexion range of motion is one of the most important risk factors for lower limb injury, which changes the biomechanics and the neuromuscular control of the lower limb muscles. This study aims to test the effectiveness of a comprehensive corrective exercise program (CCEP) on the range of motion, proprioception, dynamic balance, and muscle activation in female athletes with limited weight-bearing lunge ankle dorsiflexion range of motion. 30 female athletes aged 15 to 25 years with dorsiflexion under 34° were randomized to two groups.

  • Grape molasses (GM) is a popular traditional food in Iran, but it often faces adulteration issues where foreign substances like sugars and syrups are added.
  • This study analyzed the adulteration of GM using stable carbon isotope ratios to identify contamination levels with glucose, fructose, and beet sugar syrups at varying weights.
  • Results showed that the δC isotope ratio increased with more adulterants, indicating that this method could effectively and quickly detect adulteration in grape molasses by correlating it with various physicochemical properties.

This research introduced a novel nano catalyst, LDH@PTRMS@DCMBA@CuI, developed from nano copper immobilized on a layered double hydroxide modified with a new type of sulfonamide: , -dicarbamimidoylbenzene-1,3-disulfonamide (DCMBA). This catalyst demonstrated significant activity and selectivity in synthesizing 5-amino-1-pyrazole-5-carbonitrile derivatives. The derivatives were produced a three-component one-pot reaction combining benzaldehydes, malononitrile, and phenyl hydrazine in HO/EtOH solvent at 55 °C.

The study presented here describes the characterization and synthesis of a triazine-based covalent organic framework using different analytical procedures such as scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The synthesized COF was then utilized as an electrocatalytic modifier for the selective and sensitive determination of Pb and Cd at nanomolar levels via square wave anodic stripping voltammetry. A Plackett-Burman design was employed to screen operational parameters influencing the sensitivity of the electroanalytical method, followed by optimization of the significant variables using Box-Behnken design.

Active Polysaccharide-Based Films Incorporated with Essential Oils for Extending the Shelf Life of Sliced Soft Bread.

Molecules

September 2024

Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques, Université de Bordeaux, CNRS, Bordeaux INP, UMR 5629, 16 Avenue Pey-Berland, F-33600 Pessac, France.

Active, fully biobased film-forming dispersions (FFDs) with highly promising results for sliced soft bread preservation were successfully elaborated from carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and chitosan (CH) using a simple method based on pH adjustments. They consisted of the association of polysaccharides and oleic acid (OL) added with cinnamon (CEO) or ginger (GEO) essential oils. The chemical compositions of the commercial essential oils were first determined via GC/MS, with less than 3% of compounds unidentified.

Two yellow-to-orange-emitting binuclear iridium complexes of the form [Ir(ppy)(N^N)](ClO) (namely IrL1 and IrL2) were designed and synthesized, using phenylpyridine (ppy) as a cyclometalating ligand (C^N) and phenanthroimidazole-based bridging compounds as ancillary ligands (N^N), to explore the effect of sterically hindered bulky bridging ligands and their substituents on the electronic and emission properties of the related ionic transition metal complexes (iTMCs) and the performance of iTMC-based light-emitting electrochemical cells (iTMC-LECs). In CHCl solution, complexes IrL1 and IrL2 afford yellow-to-orange emission centered at 570 and 582 nm with PLQYs of 27% and 36%, respectively. The reversible and quasi-reversible redox behaviors of both complexes are shown to reveal the excellent stability of the emitters in solution.

Drought-induced stress represents one of the most economically detrimental natural phenomena impacting grapevine (Vitis vinifera ) development, yield, and fruit characteristics. Also, auxin is one of the most important plant growth regulators that can reduce damage caused by stress in plants. In this study, the impact of exogenously sprayed auxin (0, 50, and 200mgL-1 ) on growth, biochemical, and anatomical parameters was investigated in two grapevine varieties (cvs.

In this paper, we investigate the generalized Langevin-Sturm-Liouville differential problems involving Caputo-Atangana-Baleanu fractional derivatives of higher orders with respect to another positive, increasing function denoted by ρ. The fixed point theorems in the framework of Kransnoselskii and Banach are utilized to discuss the existence and uniqueness of the results. In addition, the stability criteria of Ulam-Hyers, generalize Ulam-Hyers, Ulam-Hyers-Rassias, and generalize Ulam-Hyers-Rassias are investigated by non-linear analysis besides fractional calculus.

Fat supplements are well known for their multiple beneficial effects on ruminant health, reproduction and productivity, and as a source for certain bioactive compounds in ruminant products. On the other hand, numerous phytochemicals have demonstrated the potential to improve rumen fermentation through modifying the volatile fatty acid (VFA) pattern to favour those with greater energy efficiency, boosting microbial protein synthesis, and decreasing methane emission and ruminal ammonia concentration. Savory is an aromatic plant rich in various phytochemicals (mainly carvacrol and flavonoids) that can alter ruminal metabolism of dietary fatty acids, potentially increasing the production of some bioactive compounds such as conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs).
