The aesthetics of the periorbital region are significantly influenced by the position of the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, and upper eyelid ptosis, with aging-related eyebrow ptosis playing a major role. Brow lift surgery has seen a marked increase in popularity, driven by a variety of techniques tailored to individual patient needs. The 'gliding brow lift' technique, which employs a minimally invasive subcutaneous approach using a hemostatic net, represents a recent advancement in eyebrow rejuvenation.

Background: Periorbital rejuvenation is often challenging and requires comprehensive evaluation of its various components to obtain satisfying results. Considering the crucial role of the orbicularis muscle in the periorbital aging process, the first author recently described his personal technique for temporal lifting through a subcutaneous approach in conjunction with an orbicularis muscle flap. In the current article, the authors present a modified and extended temporal lift approach, which allows for remarkable improvement not only in the temporal and brow region, but in the whole periorbital area up to the malar region, therefore named "Temporal MORE" (Modified Orbicularis REpositioning).

A Modified Subbrow Blepharoplasty for Correction of Severe Upper Eyelid Skin Laxity.

Background: Periorbital aging is characterized by dermatochalasis, lateral hooding and malformation of multiple eyelid creases. Rejuvenation of periorbital region is of great concern in aging Asians, especially for the females. However, the conventional subbrow blepharoplasty was indicated for mild or moderate skin laxity.

The periorbital region can be rejuvenated by the application of both neuromodulators and dermal fillers. Neuromodulators can elevate the brows and improve periorbital rhytids. Dermal fillers can camouflage orbital fat pseudoherniation and tear trough deformity.

Background: Eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure performed worldwide in the field of plastic surgery. However, achieving optimal outcomes for the upper eyelids presents a challenge, necessitating careful patient selection and appropriate surgical choices.

Objectives: This article aims to provide recommendations for selecting the most suitable surgical procedure among three commonly performed treatments for aged upper eyelids.

Temporal Facelift: A New Method for Temporal and Mid-face Lifting.

Lifting the temporal and mid-face areas creates a very dynamic change in the facial appearance and different planes of dissection were described before. In this article, a new plane of dissection is described which allows the surgeon to perform a very quick and safe dissection in both the temporal and mid-face regions. Patients were operated on using the presented technique and brow lift, cantopexy, and mid-facelift were performed.

The Male Eyebrow and Eyelid: An Anthropometric Analysis of White Professional Models.

Background: Surgical lift of eyebrows is one of the most efficient facial rejuvenation methods. Although the popularity of those procedures seems to be increasing among men, little is known about aesthetically pleasant male eyebrow shape and position.

Methods: Semiautomatic photogrammetric analysis of 300 professional White male models of assumed age (18 to 39 years old) was performed.

The Temporal Subcutaneous Brow Lift with Orbicularis Oculi Muscle Elastic Flap: Technical Considerations, Systematic Review, and Terminology Standardization.

Objectives:  As the face ages, cosmetic changes in the periorbital region including eyebrow ptosis, sagging in the lateral temporo-orbital region with superior eyelid hooding, ptosis of orbicularis oculi muscle associated with drooping of the malar area with multiple "crow feets", a deeper lid-cheek junction, and malar festoons also occur. All these periorbital structures should be considered as a single anatomical entity.

Methods:  Numerous techniques have been described to correct brow aesthetics in facial rejuvenation.

Background: The eyes are one of the most prominent features of the face. To date, a vast majority of procedures have been described for periorbital rejuvenation. Among them, non-surgical threading is an alternative and minimally invasive technique.

Impact of Surgical Rejuvenation on Visual Processing and Character Attribution of Periorbital Aging.

Background: The perceptual response to aging changes in the periorbital region and the effects of surgical rejuvenation on that response have not been elucidated. The authors examined the reflexive visual response to periorbital aging before and after brow lift and upper blepharoplasty surgery and investigated how observers' character attributions of the images were affected by the rejuvenative intervention.

Methods: Preoperative and postoperative photographs were obtained of patients with brow ptosis and dermatochalasis who underwent brow lift and blepharoplasty.

The study aimed to evaluate a new method of periorbital rejuvenation in which periorbital muscle manipulation is utilised. Patients (n = 82) who underwent eyebrow lifting surgery in Yichang Central People's Hospital were retrospectively included. All the patients had drooping eyebrows and lateral hooding of the upper eyelids combined with a flat or depressed outer-upper side of the eyebrow arch.

Aims: To describe the lines and grooves of the periorbital region and present a practical guide to the MD CODES™ algorithm for filling this region based on a narrative review of the literature.

Detection of Baseline Emotion in Brow Lift Patients Using Artificial Intelligence.

Background: The widespread popularity of browlifts and blepharoplasties speaks directly to the importance that patients place on the periorbital region of the face. In literature, most esthetic outcomes are based on instinctive analysis of the esthetic surgeon, rather than on patient assessments, public opinions, or other objective means. We employed an artificial intelligence system to objectively measure the impact of brow lifts and associated rejuvenation procedures on the appearance of emotion while the patient is in repose.

Investigating Long-Term Brow Stabilization by Endotine-Assisted Endoscopic Brow Lift with Concomitant Upper Lid Blepharoplasty.

Objective: To determine whether Endotine-assisted endoscopic brow lift with concomitant upper lid blepharoplasty provides long-term brow elevation.

Methods: Pre- and post-operative photographs from 35 patients who underwent endoscopic brow lift using Endotine Forehead 3 mm implants with concomitant upper lid blepharoplasty were measured to determine changes in brow height with surgery and up to 55 months post-operatively. Photographs of 20 control subjects who did not undergo periorbital surgery and 11 control subjects who underwent upper blepharoplasty without brow lifting were also measured to provide a basis for comparison.

A New Perspective to the Periorbital Aesthetics: Bella Eyes.

Introduction: The term beautiful eyes can be defined as youthful, brilliant, vivid, and attractive eyes. The anthropometric findings about beautiful eyes may differ according to gender or race. In order to form such a beautiful eye, a variety of surgical, nonsurgical, or combination methods for periorbital region rejuvenation have been proposed.

Transposition Upper Blepharoplasty With Orbital Retaining Ligament Release.

Purpose: Volume restoration is an important component of aesthetic facial rejuvenation, particularly in the brow and upper eyelid regions. In this study, the authors describe transposition of the central, preaponeurotic fat pad in the sub-brow preperiosteal plane with full release of the brow during upper blepharoplasty.

Methods: A retrospective review including all patients who underwent transposition of the upper eyelid central, preaponeurotic fat pad at the time of upper blepharoplasty.

A morphometric study of age- and sex-dependent changes in eyebrow height and shape.

Background: Rejuvenation procedures of the periorbital region and the forehead, with the eyebrow as a key structure, are often performed in plastic surgery. There is no common consent on the changes of aging in this region and the consecutive treatment options. This study was designed to support the body of literature with a broader data basis about the natural changes of eyebrow position and its shape.
