Objective: Subocclusive variants of the hymen are a group of hymenal anomalies that result due to a failure of canalization of the urogenital sinus. One of these variations is the microperforate hymen, for which accurate incidence is unknown. Microperforate hymen is a non-obstructing variation that allows for menstrual egress and often patients present due to inability to use a tampon.

Background: The co-existence of severe aortic stenosis (AS) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is not uncommon. Surgical intervention is the gold standard management. Patients with high surgical risk might undergo transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Background: Recognizing factors that predict non-operative management (NOM) failure for patients with small bowel obstruction (SBO) aids in limiting surgical intervention when needed. This study investigated the predictive factors for NOM failure in SBO patients in a resource-limited setting.
Material And Method: A retrospective study included 165 patients who were diagnosed with SBO and were admitted and managed at Althora General Hospital, IBB, Yemen, from April 2022 to March 2024.

Objective: In recent years, the application of robotic assistance in diagnostic and therapeutic endovascular neurointerventional procedures has gained notable attention. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aim to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and current indications of robotic-assisted neurointerventions and to assess the degree of robotic assistance and reasons for unplanned manual conversion from robotic assistance.
Methods: We searched Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases following PRISMA guidelines and included studies with ≥ 4 patients reporting on robotic-assisted neurointerventions.

Breast artery calcification (BAC) obtained from standard mammographic images is currently under evaluation to stratify risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in women. Measuring BAC using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, we aimed to determine the relationship between BAC and coronary artery calcification (CAC) severity with Major Adverse Cardiac Events (MACE). This retrospective study included women who underwent chest computed tomography (CT) within one year of mammography.

Acquired von Willebrand syndrome (aVWS) is a rare hematological disorder depicted by dysfunctional or deficient von Willebrand factor activity and can be associated with underlying hematological malignancies such as non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL). This case report examines a patient with aVWS secondary to NHL and highlights the challenges in managing bleeding and optimizing a patient for surgery. The case report will explore the multidisciplinary approach to recognizing aVWS, treatment modalities, and adjunctive measures to reduce bleeding risk as well as long-term management.

Background: Liver cirrhosis is not included in surgical risk prediction models despite being a significant risk factor associated with high periprocedural morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Limited contemporary data exists assessing the outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) in patients with cirrhosis.
Methods: Patients with cirrhosis who underwent TAVR or SAVR were identified from the Nationwide Readmissions Database.

Purpose: Aspiration thromboembolectomy is effective for treatment of high and intermediate-high risk pulmonary emboli (PE) but can be challenging when organized thrombus is present. Maceration using an expandable nitinol disk may be useful in these situations, but its safety has not been determined. The purpose of this study was to retrospectively assess the safety of this device when applied in the pulmonary vasculature, using a propensity-score matched group for comparison.

Transcatheter arterial embolization is the therapy of choice for recurrent peptic ulcer bleeding refractory to standard endoscopic hemostatic techniques. It offers a minimally invasive approach with high efficacy, lower mortality, and complication rates compared to surgery. However, rare adverse events attributed to coil migration including pulmonary embolism, stroke, myocardial infarction, and bowel obstruction have been reported.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) poses a major global health challenge. glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) have shown potential therapeutic benefits for MASLD patients, including improvements in liver function, inflammation, and fibrosis. This study aims to systematically review and meta-analyze randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GLP-1RAs in MASLD patients, focusing on hepatic outcomes, cardiovascular outcomes, anthropometric measurements, and mortality.

New graduate nurses are an untapped population for nursing professional governance and nursing research and evidenced-based practice councils. New graduate nurses can offer new insights into the management of patient care and nursing workflow. By educating new graduate nurses about the benefits of nursing research and evidence-based practice councils at the start of their careers, an early standard of excellence in the empowerment of applying evidenced-based practice principles to improve patient care quality can occur.
