Breast Imaging-Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) density scores have been included in screening mammography reports in BC since 2018. Despite these density scores being present in screening mammography reports for numerous years, there remains insufficient evidence to guide supplemental testing for patients with dense breasts. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate how primary care providers in Canada utilize BI-RADS density scores reported on normal screening mammograms of average risk, asymptomatic patients in their clinical practice.

Unlabelled: Vaccination has been considered the most crucial defence against viral infections, including SARS-CoV-2. Numerous reports have demonstrated the effectiveness of the above vaccines in oncological patients. It has also been proven that, apart from vaccinations and oncological therapy, the course of the cancer process itself influences the magnitude of the humoral response, especially in people after infection with SARS-CoV-2.

Cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) is prevalent among cancer patients. A critical disparity in the CRCI field is that most pre-clinical studies have been conducted on young cancer-free male rodents, although CRCI predominantly affects breast cancer and ovarian cancer women survivors. Since oxidative stress is widely implicated in the development of CRCI, we developed an ovarian cancer xenograft rat model of CRCI in Cr:NIH-RNU female rats to examine whether administration of the antioxidant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) prevents cisplatin-induced CRCI without altering its anti-cancer efficacy.

Associations between vitamin D biochemical status and cancer may be modified by vitamin D binding protein isoforms which are encoded by GC (group-specific component). We examined interactions between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], the Gc isoforms Gc1-1, Gc1-2, and Gc2-2, and cancer risk within the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial cohort based on 3,795 cases and 3,856 controls. Multivariable-adjusted logistic regression models estimated odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of cancer risk according to 25(OH)D quantiles, stratified by Gc isoform.

Homeobox A5 () has been identified as a tumor suppressor gene in breast cancers, but its role in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has not been confirmed. The Illumina GoldenGate Assay for methylation identified that DNA methylation patterns differ between tumorous and normal tissues in the oral cavity and that is one of the genes that are hypermethylated in oral tumor tissues. The present study obtained more‑complete information on the methylation status of by using the Illumina Infinium MethylationEPIC BeadChip and bisulfite sequencing assays.

Male breast cancer represents only 1% of all breast malignancies, with ectopic breast cancer in men being even rarer and highly prone to diagnostic challenges. Extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD), a rare cutaneous tumor with non-specific clinical symptoms, is susceptible to misdiagnosis. This report discusses the case of an older male patient who presented with a scrotal mass, later identified as ectopic breast invasive adenocarcinoma upon pathological examination post-lesion excision.

CD8 T cell spatial distribution in the context of tumor microenvironment (TME) dictates the immunophenotypes of tumors, comprised of immune-infiltrated, immune-excluded and immune-desert, discriminating "hot" from "cold" tumors. The infiltration of cytotoxic CD8 T cells is associated with favorable therapeutic response. Hitherto, the immunophenotypes of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) have not yet been comprehensively delineated.

Background: Cancer is a major cause of mortality worldwide, and differences in cancer mortality rates between countries are, in part, due to differences in access to cancer care, including medicines. National essential medicines lists (NEMLs) play a role in prioritization of healthcare expenditure and access to medicines. We examined the association between amenable cancer mortality and listing medicines used in the management of eight cancers (non-melanoma skin, uterine, breast, Hodgkin lymphoma, colon, leukemia, cervical, and testicular) in national essential medicines lists of 158 countries and summarized changes to the inclusion of cancer treatments in NEMLs.

Anogenital mammary-like glands (AGMLGs) are present in the anogenital region that bear striking morphologic and protein-expression similarities to mammary glands in the breast. AGMLGs can give rise to both benign and malignant lesions which mimic primary breast lesions. Herein, we report two mammary-type adenocarcinomas arising from AGMLGs, including one in the previously unreported site of the rectum.
