This study aimed to identify mRNA isoforms that were expressed differently in the muscle tissue of Nellore cattle based on their intramuscular fatty acid profile. Forty-eight young bulls were used to quantify beef fatty acids (FA) and perform RNA sequencing analysis. The young bulls were divided into three different groups based on quantifying FA using k-means analysis.

The objective of this study was to characterize the progression of rigor mortis and evaluate the influence of chilling time on carcass characteristics, colour, and tenderness of Botucatu rabbit meat in both males and females. The muscles analyzed were the longissimus thoracis et lumborum (LTL) and biceps femoris (BF). As chilling time progressed, weight loss due to chilling increased (P < 0.

Introduction: Our primary clinical trial indicated that anodal stimulation of the right posterior parietal region associated with specific and perceptual task training was superior to placebo in reducing stroke-induced hemispatial neglect (HN) immediately after the treatment protocol. However, our primary study did not investigate whether this benefit was maintained in the long term after stroke. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of the protocol applied in the ELETRON trial on outcomes associated with HN, functionality, and mortality.

Waste pile substrates from Fe mining may carry potentially toxic elements (PTE). Rehabilitation efforts must maintain soil vegetation cover effectively, avoiding the dispersion of particulate matter and reducing the risk to the environment and human health. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the pseudo-total and extractable contents, perform chemical fractionation, and assess the bioaccessibility and risk of PTE in waste piles of Fe mining in the Eastern Amazon.

Overgrazing is the primary human-induced cause of soil degradation in the Caatinga biome, intensely threatening lands vulnerable to desertification. Grazing exclusion, a simple and cost-effective practice, could restore soils' ecological functions. However, comprehensive insights into the effects of overgrazing and grazing exclusion on Caatinga soils' multifunctionality are lacking.

Objective: DESTINY-Breast03, a randomised, phase 3 trial, evaluated trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) versus trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2)-positive unresectable and/or metastatic breast cancer who progressed on or after treatment with trastuzumab and a taxane. At the current data cut off overall survival analysis, T-DXd demonstrated a substantial improvement in overall survival over T-DM1. This secondary analysis use of DESTINY-Breast03 aimed to further evaluate the treatment differences using quality-adjusted survival time without symptoms or toxicity (Q-TWiST) methods.

This study investigated how the time of day affects physical performance and perceptual responses in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) athletes. Given the significance of circadian rhythms on athletic capabilities, we aimed to determine whether performance variations occur across different times of the day (morning, 10:00-11:00h; afternoon, 14:00-15:00h; and evening, 18:00-19:00h) and if these effects differ by sex. In total, 23 BJJ athletes (9 females, 14 males) participated in this study.

Purpose: Locally advanced colorectal tumors frequently invade adjacent organs, particularly the urinary bladder in the sigmoid colon and upper rectum, complicating multivisceral resections. This study compared postoperative outcomes of partial cystectomy (PC) and total cystectomy (TC) in patients with locally advanced colorectal cancer.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Central Register of Clinical Trials, and Web of Science for studies published up to November 2024.

The cerebellum is a structure in the suprasegmental nervous system classically known for its involvement in motor functions such as motor planning, coordination, and motor learning. However, with scientific advances, other functions of the cerebellum, such as cognitive, emotional, and autonomic processing, have been discovered. Currently, there is a body of evidence demonstrating the involvement of the cerebellum in nociception and pain processing.

Introduction: The present study aimed at evaluating the systemic profile and network connectivity of immune mediators during acute chikungunya fever (CHIKF) according to days of symptoms onset and ageing.
Methods: A total of 161 volunteers (76 CHIKF patients and 85 non-infected healthy controls) were enrolled.
Results And Discussion: Data demonstrated that a massive and polyfunctional storm of serum immune mediators was observed in CHIKF.

Background: The benefit of treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR-TKI) for lung adenocarcinoma (ADC), stratified by ethnicity, has not yet been fully elucidated.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases for studies that investigated EGFR-TKI for lung ADC. We computed hazard ratios (HRs) or risk ratios (RRs) for binary endpoints, with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

Introduction: Contemporary dietary and nutritional transitions are commonplace, but difficult to study directly. In Brazil, and Latin America, this generalized process, leading to current obesity and malnutrition problems, started more than four decades ago. Although body weight and food availability are used to measure changes, not much information on food consumption and nutrition exist.

Aim: This study aimed to explore the possible bidirectional interrelations between fructose-induced metabolic syndrome (MS) and apical periodontitis (AP).
Methodology: Twenty-eight male Wistar rats were distributed into four groups (n = 7, per group): Control (C), AP, Fructose Consumption (FRUT) and Fructose Consumption and AP (FRUT+AP). The rats in groups C and AP received filtered water, while those in groups FRUT and FRUT+AP received a 20% fructose solution mixed with water to induce MS.

This study aims to shed light on the mechanism and kinetics of 1,4-dioxane degradation by hydroxyl radical (OH) across various solvation conditions to evaluate electronic and structural properties at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level. Transition states (TS) structures determined in the gas phase and SMD solvation model reveal similar hydrogen abstraction patterns. In contrast, the explicit solvation model (ES) introduces significant changes, suggesting a kinetic preference for axial pathways.
