Wood chipping has been described as a potential hotspot for the selection of azole-resistant (AR). We previously reported AR isolates in sawmills (Eastern France), most of which contained the TR/L98H mutation. To study genotypic relatedness, microsatellite genotyping (short tandem repeat for (STR)) was performed on 41 azole-susceptible (AS) and 23 AR isolated from 18 sawmills and two clinical (sensitive and resistant) isolated from a sinus sample of a woodworker.

Introduction: Cognitive impairment is frequent in persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) and can impact on activities of daily living. The capacity to differentiate real changes from background statistical noise induced by human, instrumentational, and environmental variations inherent to the evaluation would improve cognitive assessments.
Objective: To assess the short-term reproducibility of cognitive tests in non-multiple sclerosis (non-MS) persons and PwMS.

The aim of our validation study was to assess the quality of hospital data for perinatal algorithms on a national level. In each hospital, we selected 150 discharge abstracts of delivery (after 22 weeks of gestation), in 2014, and their corresponding medical records. Overall, 23 hospitals were included and 3,246 discharge abstracts were studied.

Amyloid beta (Aβ) is an intricate molecule that interacts with several biomolecules and/or produces insoluble assemblies and eventually the nonphysiological depositions of its alternate with normal neuronal conditions leading to Alzheimer's disease (AD). Aβ is formed through the proteolytic cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). Significant efforts are being made to explore the exact role of Aβ in AD pathogenesis.

Aflatoxicosis is one of the threats that cause severe mortalities in fish farms. The dietary functional additives are a friendly approach attributed to beneficial effects on aquatic animals. The study aimed at evaluating the impact of Spirulina platensis (SP) on the biochemical indices and antioxidative function of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) intoxicated with aflatoxin B (AFB).

Background: Clinical symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) are variable and may include cognitive impairment, which can be assessed with the verbal fluency test (VFT). This test is evaluated by counting words spoken during a 2-min period, which is not a functional approach.
Objective: The objectives of this observational study were to: (1) determine new parameters that reflect communication and cognitive functions in persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) considering the evaluation of real-time word production in the VFT; (2) compare the results with those of a control group; and (3) evaluate the impact of including errors.

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is highly prevalent in cancer patients and can cause severe morbidity. VTE treatment is essential, but anticoagulation increases the risk of major bleeding. The purpose was to evaluate the impact of VTE and major bleeding on survival and to identify significant risk factors for these events in lung cancer patients.

Anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) efficacy in patients with microsatellite instability (MSI) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) according to sporadic vs familial origin is unknown. We retrospectively analyzed 128 patients with MSI mCRC treated with first-line chemotherapy ± anti-EGFR. Among them, 61 and 67 patients were respectively categorized as familial and sporadic based on mismatch repair protein immunostaining, BRAF mutational status, and MLH1 promoter methylation status.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia worldwide. Even though the number of AD patients is rapidly growing, there is no effective treatment for this neurodegenerative disorder. At present, implementation of effective treatment approaches for AD is vital to meet clinical needs.

The neuroprotective effect of Kaempferol against cadmium chloride (CdCl) -induced neurotoxicity is well reported. The silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1) and poly (ADP-Ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP1) are two related cellular molecules that can negatively affect the activity of each other to promote or inhibit cell survival, respectively. It is still largely unknown if the neurotoxicity of CdCl or the neuroprotection of Kaempferol are mediated by modulating SIRT1 and/or PAPR1 activities.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing threat that causes over 700,000 deaths per year worldwide. The goal of the current multicenter, cross-sectional study was to identify the knowledge and practice gaps in antimicrobial stewardship among Egypt's undergraduate medical students. Nine-hundred and sixty-three participants (375 male) from 25 medical schools responded to our self-administered questionnaire.

Due to the numerous pharmacological impacts of (SP), the effects of SP on the oxidative status of Nile tilapia farmed under chlorpyrifos (CPF) ambient toxicity were considered in this study. Fish (60 ± 6.1 g) was randomly stocked in five groups where the SP free diet was fed to the control group while the second one was fed 1% SP without CPF exposure.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the utmost chronic neurodegenerative disorders, which is characterized from a neuropathological point of view by the aggregates of amyloid beta (Aβ) peptides that are deposited as senile plaques and tau proteins which form neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs). Even though advancement has been observed in order to understand AD pathogenesis, currently available therapeutic methods can only deliver modest symptomatic relief. Interestingly, naturally occurring dietary flavonoids have gained substantial attention due to their antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-amyloidogenic properties as alternative candidates for AD therapy.

Objective: To identify the differences between persons with schizophrenia (PWS) and general population in France in terms of oral health treatment (tooth scaling, dental treatment and tooth extraction) and the factors associated with these differences.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included PWS identified from a representative sample of 1/97th of the French population (general sample of beneficiaries). PWS were identified from 2014 data by an algorithm that included: F2 diagnostic codes in the register of long-term diseases in 2014 AND {(at least three deliveries of antipsychotics in 2014) OR (F20 diagnostic codes as a main or associated diagnosis in hospital discharge abstracts in 2012 or 2013 (hospital data for medicine, surgery and obstetrics)}.

The indoor microbial community is a mixture of microorganisms resulting from outdoor ecosystems that seed the built environment. However, the biogeography of the indoor microbial community is still inadequately studied. Dust from more than 3000 dwellings across France was analyzed by qPCR using 17 targets: 10 molds, 3 bacteria groups, and 4 mites.

Introduction: In France, many maternity hospitals have been closed as a result of hospital restructuring in an effort to reduce costs through economies of scale. These closures have naturally increased the distance between home and the closest maternity ward for women throughout the country. However, studies have shown a positive correlation between this increase in distance and the incidence of unplanned out-of-maternity deliveries (OMD).
