[Pterygium surgery with sutureless, glueless conjunctival graft: Preliminary study at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Cocody in Abidjan].

Purpose: To optimize the pterygium management by delineating the role of sutureless, glueless conjunctival graft.

Materials And Methods: This was a prospective cohort study carried out at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Cocody between October 1st, 2021 and March 31st, 2022. It analyzed a series of 36 cases of stage I, II and III pterygium by Cornand's classification, who underwent surgery by a sutureless conjunctival graft technique without biological glue.

[Comparison of the mismatch repair deficiency of colorectal cancers between African and European cohorts].

Introduction: According to European and American series, up to 20% of colorectal cancers are characterised by instability at microsatellites sites. MMR deficient colorectal cancers are predominantly found in the right colon. Although an increasing rate of colorectal cancer has been observed in many low-income countries including in West-Africa, data on epidemiology and biology of colorectal cancer in native Africans from this region are scarce.

[Retinal detachment surgery: Evaluation of the anatomical success and functional outcomes in a consecutive series of patients operated between 2011 and 2014 at Nantes University Medical Center].

Objective: Evaluate the anatomical and functional outcomes of retinal detachment (RD) surgery from January 2011 to November 2014.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of 182 eyes of 175 patients with a minimum follow-up of 6 months, operated for RD at Nantes University Medical Center. It consists of 56 simple RDs and 126 complex RDs treated in first intention by Scleral Buckling (SB), vitrectomy or combined surgery.

[Improvement of the quality of prevention of mother-to-child transmission in Côte d'Ivoire].

Objective: This study analysed the impact of improvement collaborative activities on the quality of prevention of mother-to-child transmission of AIDS in 28 health services in Côte d'Ivoire.

Methods: This descriptive, longitudinal, analytical study was based on the main information concerning HIV-infected pregnant women, and the integration and maintenance of HIV-infected subjects in the healthcare system. The study was conducted in 28 heathcare structures of 26 health districts in 12 health areas of Côte d'Ivoire,from January to September 2009.

[Pediatric lymphomas diagnosis after needle biopsy in Abidjan: value of cytology versus MYC translocation examination].

Objectives: In Africa, lymphomas are widely represented by pediatric Burkitt lymphomas. In Abidjan, cytology performed after needle biopsy may be an examination of choice for pediatric lymphomas because of its low cost. We evaluated the value of this cytological examination in comparison with MYC rearrangement assessment.

[Contribution of the surgical treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis during medical follow-up (experience of the pneumology department of the CHU of Cocody, in connection with five observations)].

Multidrug resistance is defined as a resistance to two major antituberculosis drugs, which are isoniazid and rifampicin. The aim of the study was to specify the place of the thoracic surgery during the medical follow-up of the TB-MDR. Five files were kept over six years during this retrospective study.
