The opioid epidemic may impact the HIV-1 reservoir and its reversal from latency in virally suppressed people with HIV (PWH). We studied forty-seven PWH and observed that lowering the concentration of HIV-1 latency reversal agents (LRA), used in combination with small molecules that do not reverse latency, synergistically increases the magnitude of HIV-1 re-activation , regardless of opioid use. This LRA boosting, which combines a Smac mimetic or low-dose protein kinase C agonist with histone deacetylase inhibitors, can generate significantly more unspliced HIV-1 transcription than phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) with ionomycin (PMAi), the maximal known HIV-1 reactivator.

To explore the impact on timely series completion of initiating the HPV vaccine series prior to other vaccines in the adolescent platform (Tdap or meningococcal vacccines), we created a cohort of children aged 9 in 2015 who were continuously enrolled through the age of 13 (2019) from a national administrative database of employee-sponsored insurance in the United States (MarketScan). Logistic regressions were used to predict the odds of HPV vaccine series completion among those who started the series prior to, concurrent with, or after receiving Tdap or meningococcal vaccination. Purpose: To describe patients who developed partial or complete punctal closure after the use of topical netarsudil in the treatment of glaucoma, with documented reversal of symptoms on drug cessation.

Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective, single-center case series including patients treated with topical netarsudil who were documented to have developed punctal disease ipsilateral to the eye(s) being treated. A literature review was also performed to identify other similar reports.

Methods: The MarketScan database, a national administrative database of employee-sponsored insurance, was queried for elements relevant to cervical cancer screening among women aged 21-65 with 6 years of continuous enrollment (2015-2019). Average-risk women were defined as those without high-risk medical conditions or abnormal screening histories, and without evidence of hysterectomy with removal of the cervix for benign indications.
