Introduction: Clavicle fractures are routinely encountered in orthopedic clinical practice and have often been the subject of debate when it comes to optimal treatment. Clavicle fracture surgery has come a long way with excellent pre-contoured superior locking plates available for fixation. This study aimed to evaluate a cohort of patients operated for displaced mid-shaft clavicle fractures by open reduction and internal fixation using superior clavicle locking plates.

Background: Osteochondromas, classified as a new benign subtype of lipomas and characterised by chondroid and osseous differentiation, are rare lesions that have been infrequently reported in previous literature. The maxillofacial region was reported as the most frequent localization, with infrequent occurrence in the lower limb. This paper represents the first documented case report of osteochondrolipoma in the foot.

Background: Meniscal extrusion, referred to as an external displacement of the meniscus, is a commonly encountered but often overlooked magnetic resonance imaging finding in the knee joint. Meniscal extrusion alters the biomechanical properties of the meniscus, leading to accelerated cartilage degeneration and early osteoarthritic changes. The literature contains discrepancies about meniscal extrusion on topics ranging from definition to diagnosis.

The articular cartilage of the joint is the thin viscoelastic layer of the connective tissue. It has a unique anatomy and physiology, which makes the repair of the articular cartilage damage more difficult and challenging due to its limited healing capacity. Increasing knowledge regarding the importance of articular cartilage for joint preservation has led to increased attention on early identification of cartilage damage as well as degeneration in order to delay osteoarthritis.

Introduction: Acetabular reconstruction in a patient with neglected DDH during complex primary total hip replacement is a challenging procedure to do. We are reporting assessment of acetabular defect in one such patient with pre-operative 3D printing, followed by reconstruction with trabecular metal shell and augments.
Case Report: A 32-year-old female with neglected DDH (Crowe's type 4) reported to us with pain, limp, and shortening of affected limb.

Background: Paediatric supracondylar fractures are the most common childhood fractures under 8 years of age. Displaced paediatric supracondylar fractures are mostly classified on the basis of fracture geometry and none of the classification systems takes the clinical condition of the limb into consideration.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional outcome of displaced extention type supracondylar fractures of humerus in children managed on the basis of our new classification.

Removal of foreign bodies from soft tissues in emergency is very challenging and becomes more problematic when it is radiolucent. Blind exploration is sometimes hazardous for patients especially when it is in proximity to a vessel or a nerve or an overlying tendon. The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of ultrasonography (USG) in detecting radiolucent soft tissue foreign bodies in the extremities.

In this paper, is described a new method of internal fixation for smaller bone fractures without comminution and with interdigitating ends, especially clavicle and forearm bones. Fixation and compression are achieved by a new technique called "the double noose loop". This fixation can be to allow placement of a plate easily.

Introduction: The percentage of elderly population is increasing worldwide, with increasing incidence of femoral neck fractures. An increasing trend of arthroplasty for femoral neck fracture is observed. We aim to retrospectively analyze the preoperative factors that seem to influence the decision between hemiarthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty for managment of the same.

Anesthesia providers and surgeons do poorly at consistently identifying patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) without use of screening tools. Aims of this evidence-based-practice project were to determine whether educating nurses about OSA and incorporating the STOP-BANG Questionnaire into preoperative forms was associated with an increased identification of patients with suspected OSA and an increased frequency of nurse-generated anesthesia consultation for OSA. A retrospective chart review of 100 consecutive records over a 1-month period using the STOP-BANG Questionnaire criteria was completed before and after implementation of the education and screening program at US Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan.

Indian ethnomedicine acclaims the use of Tinospora cordifolia (TC) in the treatment of bone fractures and vat rakta (gout). The objective of the study is to investigate the effects of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia on bone remodeling (involving osteoblastic and osteoclastic actions) in vitro and protect against ovariectomy-induced bone loss in vivo. Human osteoblast-like cells MG-63 and primary osteoblast cells isolated from rat femur were used as osteoblast models and RAW macrophage cell line 264.

The Lisfranc fracture-dislocation of the foot is uncommon and diagnosis is often missed. The Lisfranc joint involves the articulation between medial cuneiform and base of the second metatarsal and is considered a keystone to structural integrity to the midfoot. The articulation has a stabilization effect on longitudinal and transverse arches of the foot.

The emergence of newer pharmacotherapeutic agents and surgical cartilage resurfacing techniques is driving the need for imaging modalities capable of early, accurate, and reproducible lesion detection. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has emerged as a noninvasive tool for direct 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) assessment of the articular cartilage in both clinical and research settings. MRI has largely overcome the shortcomings of the current gold standard, radiography, by allowing for the detection of preclinical disease and subtle early abnormalities prior to the onset of radiographic disease, when damage is still reversible.

Background: Management of distal radius fractures (DRFs) is still controversial and may be influenced by the initial fracture classification. Even though numerous classification systems have been proposed in this regard, the evaluation and management of this fracture has remained problematic.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional outcome of DRF managed on the basis of a new classification.

Accurate radiographic interpretation is essential for properly diagnosing the etiology of pre-arthritic hip pain such as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and acetabular dysplasia (AD); however, radiographic interpretation can be significantly influenced by the observer's experience level. This study assesses the accuracy and inter- and intraobserver reliability in the radiographic evaluation of FAI and AD based on experience level. Fifty-five patients diagnosed with FAI, AD or normal hip morphology were identified from the principal investigator's institutional database.
