Background: Although studies have demonstrated that implementation leadership and climate are important constructs in predicting evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation, concrete descriptions of how they operate during organizational implementation efforts are lacking. This case study fills that gap through an in-depth description of an organization with effective implementation leadership that successfully built a strong implementation climate. This case study provides an illustration of implementation leadership and climate in tangible, replicable terms to assist managers, practitioners, and researchers in addressing the organizational context in their own implementation projects.

Background: Theory and correlational research indicate organizational leadership and climate are important for successful implementation of evidence-based practices (EBPs) in healthcare settings; however, experimental evidence is lacking. We addressed this gap using data from the WISDOM (Working to Implement and Sustain Digital Outcome Measures) hybrid type III effectiveness-implementation trial. Primary outcomes from WISDOM indicated the Leadership and Organizational Change for Implementation (LOCI) strategy improved fidelity to measurement-based care (MBC) in youth mental health services.

Phonon thermophoresis of crystalline nanoparticles in liquids.

Our nonequilibrium thermodynamic model of thermodiffusion in molecular liquid systems is used to examine the role of thermal phonons in the thermophoresis of liquid suspensions of crystalline nanoparticles, which tend to have high thermal conductivity. The Soret coefficient used to characterize stationary thermodiffusion is related to differences in entropy between a particle and the body of liquid that it displaces. Calculated phonon Soret coefficients for graphite and diamond nanoparticles in three polar solvents are used to establish parameters where the phonon mechanism is expected to dominate particle thermophoresis compared to slip-flow caused by forces induced in the surface layer by the temperature gradient.

The mechanical resilience of the knee meniscus is provided by a group of structural proteins in the extracellular matrix. Aging can alter the quantity and molecular structure of these proteins making the meniscus more susceptible to debilitating tears. In this study, we determined the effect of aging on the quantity of structural proteins and collagen crosslinks in human lateral meniscus, and examined whether the quantity of these molecules was predictive of tensile toughness (area under the stress-strain curve).

A noncollinear optical parametric amplifier (NOPA) can produce few-cycle femtosecond laser pulses that are ideally suited for time-resolved optical spectroscopy measurements. However, the nonlinear-optical process giving rise to ultrabroadband pulses is susceptible to spatiotemporal dispersion problems. Here, we detail refinements, including chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) and pulse-front matching (PFM), that minimize spatiotemporal dispersion and thereby improve the properties of ultrabroadband pulses produced by a NOPA.

Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) can lead to numerous deficits in body functions, including balance and mobility impairment. This study examined the effect of lower back and lower extremity kinesiology tape (KT) application on static balance and physical functioning performance in people with MS (pwMS) and compared that to a non-elastic tape.

Methods: This pilot randomized study recruited and enrolled 10 participants with MS that were allocated into two groups: kinesio (n = 6) and non-elastic (n = 4) tape.

Large language models (LLMs) can support nursing education but pose questions of validity, reliability, and ethical use. This article proposes using the five rights of nursing delegation framework by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to teach nursing students about the appropriate use of LLMs in health care and nursing education. Nursing faculty can teach students how to assess the validity and reliability of the information provided by LLMs, document its use, and reference and cite information appropriately.

Niobium pentoxide (NbO) is a promising negative electrode for sodium ion batteries (SIBs). By engineering the morphology and crystallinity of nanochanneled niobium oxides (NCNOs), the kinetic behavior and charge storage mechanism of NbO electrodes were investigated. Amorphous and crystalline NCNO samples were made by modulating anodization conditions (20-40 V and 140-180 °C) to synthesize nanostructures of varying pore sizes and wall thicknesses with identical chemical composition.

Background: Patient mobility tasks place rehabilitation professionals (Physical and Occupational Therapists) working in hospitals at high risk for work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). However, when investigating engagement with a Safe Patient Handling and Mobility program (SPHM), administrative records at a level one trauma hospital showed that rehabilitation professionals reported zero work-related injuries over an eight-year period.

Objective: As part of a qualitative study conducted to discover their unique work experiences, we explored some of the reasons that rehabilitation professionals might not report work-related injuries to their employers.
