Objective: This study aims to examine the perspectives of neonatologists in Israel regarding resuscitation of preterm infants born at 22-24 weeks gestation and their consideration of parental preferences. The factors that influence physicians' decisions on the verge of viability were investigated, and the extent to which their decisions align with the national clinical guidelines were determined.
Study Design: Descriptive and correlative study using a 47-questions online questionnaire.

Background: Condylar hyperplasia is a non-neoplastic overgrowth of the mandibular condyle. The disorder is progressive and causes gradual jaw deviation, facial asymmetry, and dental malocclusion. The only treatment capable of stopping hyperplastic growth is surgical condylectomy to remove the upper portion of the condyle containing the deranged growth center.

Introduction: Although COVID-19 is mainly a respiratory disease, recent evidence has emerged of vascular and procoagulant pathologies even in young and otherwise healthy individuals. Ophthalmic manifestations include, among others, visual impairment due to arteritic and venous retinal obstructions, which at times precedes other aspects of the disease. We present two atypical cases of internal carotid dissection (ICAD) and review the different ocular symptoms of ICAD and its association with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Low levels of vitamin D are associated with a shorter time to first treatment (TTFT) and inferior overall survival in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). But whether vitamin D supplement affects the clinical course of patients with CLL, remains an open question. In this study, we aimed to retrospectively explore the clinical benefit of vitamin D supplement or one of its analogs, on TTFT and treatment-free survival (TFS) in a large cohort of patients with asymptomatic CLL, who were under watch-and-wait approach.

Background/aim: The treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has changed dramatically over the last two decades. The current study aimed to investigate the impact on overall survival (OS) and time to next treatment (TTT) among CLL patients from 1998 to 2022.
Patients And Methods: The cohort was based on data obtained from electronic medical records of Maccabi, the second largest healthcare organization in Israel.

Background: Smoking remains the leading preventable cause of disease, disability, and death worldwide. Although physicians have high levels of health literacy with awareness of the consequences of smoking and their essential role in smoking cessation of patients, some physicians continue to smoke. Rates of smoking among Arab male physicians are high.

Background: Delirium is a frequent mental impairment in geriatric patients hospitalized in acute care facilities. It carries a high risk of complications and is often the first symptom of acute illness. It is clearly important to identify the development of delirium at an early stage, and several short and effective diagnostic tests have been developed and validated for this purpose.

Due to the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, a preventive tool in the form of vaccination was introduced. Thoracic cancer patients had one of the highest rates of morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19 disease, but the lack of data about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines in this population triggered studies like ours to explore these parameters in a cancer population. Out of 98 patients with thoracic malignancies vaccinated per protocol, 60-75% experienced some adverse events (AE) after their first or second vaccination, most of them were mild and did not interfere with their daily activities.

Purpose: Current guidelines for the management of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without driver mutations recommend checkpoint immunotherapy with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors, either alone or in combination with chemotherapy. This approach fails to account for individual patient variability and host immune factors and often results in less-than-ideal outcomes. To address the limitations of the current guidelines, we developed and subsequently blindly validated a machine learning algorithm using pretreatment plasma proteomic profiles for personalized treatment decisions.

Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is composed of 2 major protein components, a low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol-like particle containing apolipoprotein B (apo B) that is covalently bound to apolipoprotein(a). Its level is predominantly genetically determined, and it is estimated that 20% to 25% of the population have Lp(a) levels that are associated with increased cardiovascular risk. Elevated Lp(a) is related to increased vascular inflammation, calcification, atherogenesis and thrombosis, and is considered an independent and potentially causal risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and calcified aortic valve stenosis.

Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have made a paradigm shift in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, clinical response varies widely and robust predictive biomarkers for patient stratification are lacking. Here, we characterize early on-treatment proteomic changes in blood plasma to gain a better understanding of treatment response and resistance.

Objective: Recently, two randomized controlled trials compared removal of cervical ripening balloon (CRB) after 6 versus 12 h. Their results showed similar Bishop score changes in both groups and a shorter time to delivery in the 6-h group. Neither of the studies was powered to show difference in mode of delivery.

Introduction: Preexposure prophylaxis with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) was developed in addition to COVID-19 vaccine for immunocompromised and those with insufficient immune response, among them patients with CLL. Omicron variant and its sublineages evolved mutations that escape mAbs neutralizing effect, yet the extent of which was not studied.
Methods: We evaluated anti-spike titers and neutralization activity of COVID-19 wild-type (WT), Delta, Omicron, BA.

Purpose: This article is the first in a two-part series designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the range of supratentorial intraventricular masses observed in children. Our primary objective is to discuss the diverse types of intraventricular masses that originate not only from cells within the choroid plexus but also from other sources.
Methods: In this article, we review relevant epidemiological data, the current genetics/molecular classification as outlined in the fifth edition of the World Health Organization's Classification of tumours of the Central Nervous System and noteworthy imaging findings.

Aim: The development of robotic assistance has made dissection and suturing in the deep pelvis much easier. The augmented quality of the images and the articulation of the robotic arms have also enabled a more precise dissection. The aim of this study is to present the data on robotic-assisted ventral mesh rectopexy procedures in a university hospital and examine the literature in terms of mesh erosion.
