Objectives: Determine valoctocogene roxaparvovec durability, efficacy, and safety 4 years after treatment.

Methods: In the phase 3 GENEr8-1 trial, 134 adult male persons with severe hemophilia A without inhibitors and previously using FVIII prophylaxis received a 6 × 10 vg/kg infusion of valoctocogene roxaparvovec.

Methods: Using the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Wide-Ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research (CDC-WONDER), we retrospectively analyzed annual age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMR) per million from 1999 to 2020 in stroke patients with AF.

Many adolescents with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) currently have to stop treatment with burosumab at the end of skeletal growth. We describe the experience of a cohort of adolescents with XLH before, during, and after stopping burosumab (median treatment duration 37.5 months).

A woman in her early 90s presented to the acute surgical take with a 3-day history of worsening reflux, vomiting, epigastric pain and constipation. Subsequent imaging demonstrated two large, impacted gallstones in the pylorus and proximal jejunum secondary to a cholecystoduodenal fistula. A diagnosis of Bouveret syndrome was made, and endoscopic attempts to break down and remove the stones were unsuccessful.

Recurrent acute and chronic pancreatitis (RAP, CP) are complex, progressive inflammatory diseases with variable pain experiences impacting patient function and quality of life. The genetic variants and pain pathways in patients contributing to most severe pain experiences are unknown. We used previously genotyped individuals with RAP/CP from the North American Pancreatitis Study II (NAPS2) of European Ancestry for nested genome-wide associated study (GWAS) for pain-severity, chronicity, or both.

This paper investigates unmet needs among dyads of people aged 50 and over in England. Understanding the extent and patterns of unmet needs for long-term care across different social groups is critical for understanding care-related experiences and inequalities and planning the long-term care system. Although spouses are a main source of care support, little is known about how spouses' characteristics relate to one's experience of unmet care needs.

Background: Hybrid closed-loop systems are a new class of technology to manage type 1 diabetes mellitus. Extended Platelet-Rich Fibrin as a Membrane for Lateral Window Sinus Lifts: A Case Series.

Introduction: Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is being increasingly utilized in surgical procedures due to various improvements in clinical outcomes. More recently, a heating process to denature albumin in the platelet poor plasma (PPP) layer has been shown to extend the resorption time of PRF from a typical 2-week period to 4-6 months. Because of its > 4 month resorption properties, extended PRF (e-PRF) membranes have been used in dentistry as an alternative to collagen membranes in alveolar ridge preservations, ridge augmentations, soft tissue grafting, and as a barrier membrane in lateral sinus grafting procedures.

Improving Electroencephalography Screening via an Online Module for Neurology Trainees: A Multicenter Study.

Purpose: To investigate the utility of a 15-minute online module to improve the self-confidence and knowledge of neurology trainees when screening an EEG.

Methods: We developed a fast, convenient, and accessible 15-minute online module to teach basic concepts of EEG screening using a five-step approach. To assess the efficacy of the module among neurology trainees, three surveys were developed.

Anticoagulant use is prevalent and associated with significant potential for harm. Anticoagulation stewardship practice has emerged to address care gaps and promote safe, effective, and cost-conscious anticoagulation use across health care systems. Here we present 4 patient cases describing common challenges in anticoagulation management: inappropriate dosing of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), the diagnosis and management of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), periprocedural anticoagulation management, and heavy menstrual bleeding on anticoagulation.

High-velocity nasal insufflation versus noninvasive positive pressure ventilation for moderate acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the emergency department: A randomized clinical trial.

Background: Acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the emergency department (ED) involve dyspnea, cough, and chest discomfort; frequent exacerbations are associated with increased mortality and reduced quality of life. Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NiPPV) is commonly used to help relieve symptoms but is limited due to patient intolerance. We aimed to determine whether high-velocity nasal insufflation (HVNI) is noninferior to NiPPV in relieving dyspnea within 4 h in ED patients with acute hypercapnic respiratory failure.

Managing preschool wheeze: a qualitative study of parents' views and experiences.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore parents' views and experiences of managing preschool wheeze, including opinions on the use of investigations to inform treatment pathways.

Design: Purposive sampling was used to recruit 16 participants from 14 families across England and Wales. Qualitative data were collected via semi-structured interviews with parents of children aged 1-5 years with preschool wheeze, conducted on Microsoft (MS) Teams.

Study Objective: The primary objective of this study was to describe vaginal hysterectomy practice patterns as well as facilitators and inhibitors to performing vaginal hysterectomy among gynecologic surgeons. Secondary objectives were to describe facilitators and inhibitors to the teaching and training of vaginal hysterectomy.

Design: Quantitative analysis of an online survey and qualitative analyses of the one-on-one interviews on gynecologic surgeons was conducted.
