The motivation for this article stems from the fact that medical image security is crucial for maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting against unauthorized access or manipulation. This paper presents a novel encryption technique that integrates the Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Networks (DCGAN) and Virtual Planet Domain (VPD) approach to enhance the protection of medical images. The method uses a Deep Learning (DL) framework to generate a decoy image, which forms the basis for generating encryption keys using a timestamp, nonce, and 1-D Exponential Chebyshev map (1-DEC).

Fly ash, produced during coal combustion for energy making, which is recognized as an industrial by-product, could lead to environmental health hazards. Subsequently, fly ash found that an exceptional adsorption performance for the removal of various toxic pollutants, the adsorption capacity of fly ash might be altered by introducing physical/chemical stimulation. Successfully converting fly ash into zeolites not only recovers their disposal difficulties but also transforms unwanted materials into merchandisable products for various industrial applications.

Ferritins are ubiquitous and play a critical role in iron homeostasis. They are classified into four main subfamilies: classical, bacterial, bacterioferritin, and Dps. These are characterized by subunits with a four-helical bundle domain and interact through three distinct regions-one antiparallel interface (IntA) and two perpendicular interfaces (IntB and IntC), collectively forming a cage-like structure.

Acalabrutinib (ACP) is a first-line treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia but suffers from poor and variable oral bioavailability due to its pH-dependent solubility, CYP3A4 metabolism, and P-gp efflux. Thus, the objective of this study was to improve the solubility and dissolution behaviour, in turn enhancing bioavailability, by formulating solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs). ACP loaded SLNs (ACP-SLNs) were prepared via solvent-free hot emulsification followed by a double sonication process.

Amphotericin B eye drops (reconstituted from lyophilized Amphotericin B formulation indicated for intravenous use) is used off-label for fungal keratitis. However, the reconstituted formulation is stable only for a week, even after refrigeration. Moreover, a high dosing frequency makes it an inconvenient treatment practice.

The emergence of self-propelling magnetic nanobots represents a significant advancement in the field of drug delivery. These magneto-nanobots offer precise control over drug targeting and possess the capability to navigate deep into tumor tissues, thereby addressing multiple challenges associated with conventional cancer therapies. Here, Fe-GSH-Protein-Dox, a novel self-propelling magnetic nanobot conjugated with a biocompatible protein surface and loaded with doxorubicin for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), is reported.

Porous covalent organic frameworks (COFs) offer significant advantages in electrochromic (EC) applications due to their high surface area and porosity, which facilitate faradaic redox-mediated diffusion-controlled processes. However, COFs remain underexplored as EC materials due to challenges such as limited solubility and poor film-forming ability. In this study, we synthesized a redox-active triphenylamine-containing COF (TPA-TCIF) on ITO glass via a solvothermal method tailored for electrochromism and electrofluorochromism.

Tetra-benzimidazole rotors flanking a divinyl-phenothiazine stator are realized as red AIEgens and newly identified as efficient aza-Michael acceptors for the identification of biogenic amine vapors. Weakly red-emissive solids display a blue-shifted turn-on emission by rapid aza-Michael addition and simultaneous reverse Knoevenagel reactions. Concentration variation imposes better crystallinity and facilitates radiative decay, offering distinct emissions.

Visual electrochemiluminescence (ECL) has emerged as a prominent diagnostic method for accurately quantifying various disease markers even at point of care setting with high sensitivity and accuracy. It does not employ complicated instruments such as potentiostat and expensive imaging microscopy for quantifying trace amounts of molecules. The ECL system offers significant advantages over other detection processes, such as high sensitivity, selectivity, rapid response, multiplexing, and miniaturization capabilities, making it well-suited for future commercialization.

Abiraterone acetate (ABTA) is used as a primary treatment for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Its low aqueous solubility results in inadequate dissolution and poor oral bioavailability (<10%), necessitating the consumption of large doses of ABTA (1000 mg per day) for desired efficacy. The aim of this study is to enhance the solubility, dissolution, and bioavailability of ABTA through amorphous solid dispersions (SDs).

The solvent-free mechanochemical reactions under ball milling have emerged as a promising alternative to traditional solution-based chemistry. This approach not only eliminates the necessity for large quantities of solvents and minimizes waste production, but it also facilitates a unique reaction environment that enables strategies, reactions, and compound syntheses that are typically unattainable in solution. This solvent-less synthetic strategy under ball-milling has been well employed in synthetic organic chemistry in accessing various potential organic molecules including pharmaceutically important molecules and pharmaceuticals or drug-molecules.

Active particles are self-propelling in nature due to the generation of a fore-aft asymmetry in the concentration of solutes around their surface. Both the surface activity and mobility play an important role in the particle dynamics. The solutes are the products of the chemical reaction between the active particle surface and suspending medium.

HER2-positive breast cancer constitutes 20 % of reported cases, characterized by excessive expression of HER2 receptors, pivotal in cell signaling and growth. Immunotherapy, the established treatment, often leads to multidrug resistance and tumor recurrence. There's a critical need for an effective strategy delaying drug resistance onset and ensuring cancer cell eradication.

The global shift towards sustainable energy sources, necessitated by climate change concerns, has led to a critical review of biohydrogen production (BHP) processes and their potential as a solution to environmental challenges. This review evaluates the efficiency of various reactors used in BHP, focusing on operational parameters such as substrate type, pH, temperature, hydraulic retention time (HRT), and organic loading rate (OLR). The highest yield reported in batch, continuous, and membrane reactors was in the range of 29-40 L H/L per day at an OLR of 22-120 g/L per day, HRT of 2-3 h and acidic range of 4-6, with the temperature maintained at 37 °C.

Hybrid nanoparticles formed by Silica (SiO) coated with cationic gemini surfactants with variable hydroxyl group substituted spacers, 12-4(OH)-12,2Br and 12-4(OH)-12,2Br have shown a great extent of compaction of calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA) compared to conventional counterpart cationic surfactant, dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide (DTAB). Study shows not only the hydrophobicity of the spacer but also the hydrogen bonding interactions between the hydroxyl group substituted spacer and DNA have a great role in DNA compaction. 12-4(OH)-12,2Br is more efficient in compacting ct-DNA compared to 12-4(OH)-12,2Br due to the stronger binding of the former with ct-DNA than the latter.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA crystal structure is no longer conceived as a static entity; rather, it often mirrors crystallization pathways, linking crystal structures with a solution scenario. In this study, taking a clue from a previously reported ionic cocrystal structure, an acetic acid-based catalytic protocol is developed for the -acylation of amines using ester sources. In addition to better catalytic efficiency, this approach was extended further to a mechanochemistry protocol in the context of a multicomponent reaction.
