Metabolic rewiring is required for cancer cells to survive in harsh microenvironments and is considered to be a hallmark of cancer. Specific metabolic adaptations are required for a tumor to become invasive and metastatic. Cell division and metabolism are inherently interconnected, and several cell cycle modulators directly regulate metabolism.

Psoriasis is a chronic T-cell-mediated autoimmune skin disorder characterized by excessive epidermal thickening, overproliferation of keratinocyte, disruption of epidermal cell differentiation, and increased blood vessel growth in the dermal layer. Despite the common use of corticosteroids in psoriasis treatment, their limited efficacy and numerous side effects pose significant challenges. This research introduces a promising alternative approach by encapsulating eugenol (EU) in soya phosphatidylcholine (SPC) nanoparticles (EUNPs) which showed spherical shape nanoparticles with a hydrodynamic size of approximately 200 nm, polydispersity index 0.

Among the reported spinel ferrites, the p-block metal containing SnFeO is scarcely explored, but it is a promising water-splitting electrocatalyst. This study focuses on the reaction kinetics and atomic scale insight of the reaction mechanism of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyzed by SnFeO and analogous FeO. The replacement of FeIIOh sites with SnIIOh in SnFeO improves the catalytic efficiency and various intrinsic parameters affecting the reaction kinetics.

1-Deoxy-d-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase (DXR) is a key enzyme of the 2--methyl-d-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) pathway operating in several pathogens, including and . Since a DXR homologue is not present in humans, it is an important antimicrobial target. Fosmidomycin (FSM) and its analogues inhibit DXR function by chelating the divalent metal (Mn or Mg) in its active site a hydroxamate metal binding group (MBG).

Magnesium-based multicomponent alloys with different compositions, namely MgAlZnCuMn (Mg60 alloy), MgAlZnCuMn (Mg70 alloy), and MgAlCuMnZn (Mg 80) alloys, were prepared using the disintegrated melt deposition technique. The DMD technique is a distinctive method that merges the benefits from gravity die casting and spray forming. This approach facilitates high solidification rates, process yields, and reduced metal wastage, resulting in materials with a fine microstructure and minimal porosity.

Intramolecular charge transfer (ICT)-based chromophores are highly sought after for designing near-infrared (NIR) absorbing and emitting dyes as well as for designing materials for nonlinear optical (NLO) applications. The properties of these 'push-pull' molecules can easily be modified by varying the electronic donor (D) and acceptor (A) groups as well as the π-conjugation linker. This study presents a methodical approach and employs quantum chemical analysis to explore the relationship between the structural features, electro-optical properties, and the NLO characteristics of molecules with D-π-A framework.

This study explores a novel approach to address the challenges of delivering highly water-soluble drug molecules by employing hydrophobic ion-pairing (HIP) complexes within poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microspheres. The HIP complex, formed between doxycycline hyclate (DH) and docusate sodium (DS), renders the drug hydrophobic. The development of the microspheres was done using the QbD approach, namely, Box-Behnken Design (BBD).

The COVID-19 pandemic, triggered by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, has affected millions of people worldwide. Much research has been dedicated to our understanding of COVID-19 disease heterogeneity and severity, but less is known about recovery associated changes. To address this gap in knowledge, we quantified the proteome from serum samples from 29 COVID-19 convalescents and 29 age-, race-, and sex-matched healthy controls.

Vitamin D3 (VD) is a secosteroid hormone and shows a pleiotropic effect in brain-related disorders where it regulates redox imbalance, inflammation, apoptosis, energy production, and growth factor synthesis. Vitamin D3's active metabolic form, 1,25-dihydroxy Vitamin D3 (1,25(OH)D3 or calcitriol), is a known regulator of several genes involved in neuroplasticity, neuroprotection, neurotropism, and neuroinflammation. Multiple studies suggest that VD deficiency can be proposed as a risk factor for the development of several age-related neurological disorders.

Impedance sensing with silicon nanowire field-effect transistors (SiNW-FETs) shows considerable potential for label-free detection of biomolecules. With this technique, it might be possible to overcome the Debye-screening limitation, a major problem of the classical potentiometric readout. We employed an electronic circuit model in Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) for SiNW-FETs to perform impedimetric measurements through SPICE simulations and quantitatively evaluate influences of various device parameters to the transfer function of the devices.

Lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles (LPNs) exhibit several advantages over polymeric and non-polymeric systems in terms of improved drug loading, controlled release, stability, and cellular uptake. Herein we report a scalable and stable monolithic lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles (LPNs) consisting of a combination of lipids (solid and liquid) and an amphiphilic copolymer, mPEG-PLA. Clobetasol propionate, a topical corticosteroid, was encapsulated in the hydrophobic core of these LPNs that showed spherical shaped particles with a z-average size of 94.
