The serological response to the influenza virus vaccine is highly heterogeneous for reasons that are not entirely clear. While the impact of demographic factors such as age, body mass index (BMI), sex, prior vaccination and titer levels are known to impact seroconversion, they only explain a fraction of the response. To identify signatures of the vaccine response, we analyzed 273 protein levels from 138 serum samples of influenza vaccine recipients (2019-2020 season).

Accumulation of misfolded proteins is a common phenomenon of several neurodegenerative diseases. The misfolding of proteins due to abnormal polyglutamine (PolyQ) expansions are linked to the development of PolyQ diseases including Huntington's disease (HD). Though the genetic basis of PolyQ repeats in HD remains prominent, the primary molecular basis mediated by PolyQ toxicity remains elusive.

Recent studies undoubtedly show the importance of inter organellar connections to maintain cellular homeostasis. In normal physiological conditions or in the presence of cellular and environmental stress, each organelle responds alone or in coordination to maintain cellular function. The Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria are two important organelles with very specialized structural and functional properties.

Increasing the surface area-to-volume ratio of materials through size reduction is a desired approach to access maximum possible surface sites in applications such as catalysis. However, increase in the surface energy with the decrease in dimension warrants strong ligands to stabilize nanosystems, which mask the accessibility of the active surface sites. Owing to this, the realization of the true potential of a catalyst's surface remains challenging.

Energy-efficient and sustainable processes for the production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from carbohydrates are in high demand. Bivalent ion-exchanged microwave-synthesized Zn TPA/γ-AlO was employed for the direct conversion of carbohydrates into HMF. The as-synthesized samples were structurally characterized by FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, UV-Vis diffused reflectance spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction.
