Rapid determination of amino acid isomer is very important for the evaluation of the amino acid nutrition in different foods, so a fast and sensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor was innovatively fabricated for the determination of tyrosine isomers in foods based on N-Acetyl-L-cysteine/upconversion nanomaterials possessed a good particular selectivity to L-tyrosine. Under the optimal conditions, for L-tyrosine, the limit of detection (LOD) of the sensor for L-tyrosine was 2.87 × 10 M, detection range of 5.

C3 and C4 grasses directly and indirectly provide the vast majority of calories to the human diet, yet our understanding of the molecular mechanisms driving photosynthetic productivity in grasses is largely unexplored. Ground meristem cells divide to form mesophyll or vascular initial cells early in leaf development in C3 and C4 grasses. Here we define a genetic circuit composed of SHORT ROOT (SHR), INDETERMINATE DOMAIN (IDD), and PIN-FORMED (PIN) family members that specifies vascular identify and ground cell proliferation in leaves of both C3 and C4 grasses.

A novel 3D C-based nano Cu[Fe(CN)]-C (C-CuFC) nanocrystals with unusually electrical-conductivity was synthesized based on reduced carboxylated graphene oxide (COOH-rGO) and copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) by using room temperature (RT) K[Fe(CN)]-solution growth. During the fabrication of C-CuFC electrode, rGO-COOH enabled the Cu to tunnel the electrons, which contributed to form a 3D petal-liked structure (Flo.-C), meanwhile, the synthetic 3D Flo.

Endophytic Fungi: From Symbiosis to Secondary Metabolite Communications or Vice Versa?

Front Plant Sci

December 2021

State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology, Key Laboratory of Biological and Genetic Breeding of Cotton, The Ministry of Agriculture, Institute of Cotton Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Anyang, China.

Endophytic fungi (EF) are a group of fascinating host-associated fungal communities that colonize the intercellular or intracellular spaces of host tissues, providing beneficial effects to their hosts while gaining advantages. In recent decades, accumulated research on endophytic fungi has revealed their biodiversity, wide-ranging ecological distribution, and multidimensional interactions with host plants and other microbiomes in the symbiotic continuum. In this review, we highlight the role of secondary metabolites (SMs) as effectors in these multidimensional interactions, and the biosynthesis of SMs in symbiosis complex gene expression regulation mechanisms in the symbiotic continuum and the mimicry or alteration of phytochemical production in host plants.

Background: Schistosomiasis is one of the neglected tropical diseases causing a serious human health problem in Ethiopia. Praziquantel is the only drug that has been used for the treatment of human schistosomiasis in the country. In line with this, the efficacy of praziquantel has been evaluated in a few interventional studies in the country, but there is a lack in systematically gathered and analyzed information for policymakers.
