Advanced osteosarcomas (OSs) and Ewing sarcomas (ESs) tend to have poor prognosis with limited therapeutic options beyond first-line therapy. Aberrant angiogenesis and MET signaling play an important role in preclinical models. The anti-angiogenic drug cabozantinib was tested in a phase 2 trial of advanced OS and ES and was associated with clinical benefits.

Pseudomeningocele (PMC) is a rare complication of anterior cervical procedures resulting in pain, headaches, nerve root entrapment, and in rare cases, spinal cord compression. Here we present a 57-year-old male with increasing myelopathy due to late-onset PMC that developed two years following a 360-degree cervical surgery for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). In this case, the PMC was successfully treated with a lumboperitoneal shunt.

Thromboprophylaxis, as a preventive measure for cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT), may be beneficial for patients with active cancer and high-risk for thrombosis. The present post hoc analysis include a total of 407 patients enrolled in the Greek Management of Thrombosis study, who received thromboprophylaxis with tinzaparin. The objectives of the present analysis were: i) To obtain sufficient evidence for the administration of prophylaxis in patients with active cancer, irrespective of Khorana risk assessment model score; ii) to identify the selection criteria for both dose and duration of tinzaparin; and iii) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tinzaparin administered for CAT prophylaxis.
