Most chronic respiratory diseases often lead to the clinical manifestation of pulmonary fibrosis. Inflammation and immune disorders are widely recognized as primary contributors to the onset of pulmonary fibrosis. Given that macrophages are predominantly responsible for inflammation and immune disorders, in this review, we first focused on the role of different subpopulations of macrophages in the lung and discussed the crosstalk between macrophages and other immune cells, such as neutrophils, regulatory T cells, NKT cells, and B lymphocytes during pulmonary fibrogenesis.

Astragaloside Ⅳ (AS-Ⅳ) improved the motor behavior of PD mouse but the alteration of imaging in the PD mice brain was unclear. PD models were established by unilateral injection of ROT into the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) of mice. AS-Ⅳ (4 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected once a day for 14 days.

The etiology and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) are complex, and currently, no comprehensive treatment measures exist. In this study, we initially utilized ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with quadrupole orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QE-MS) to profile the bioactive constituents of SZLOL present in the bloodstream. Subsequent Y-maze experimental data demonstrated that SZLOL could ameliorate short-term memory deficits in APP/PS1 mice.

Introduction: Ovarian adenomyoma is a rare gynecological tumor with a high misdiagnosis rate, leading many patients to undergo unnecessary surgeries that may affect fertility. Menstrual abdominal pain is the most common symptom, and auxiliary examinations often cannot clarify its nature. It often relies on intraoperative diagnosis, and surgical resection can achieve good therapeutic effects.

Accurate and timely genetic material replication is essential for preserving genomic integrity. The replication process begins with chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1 (CDT1). It has been demonstrated that dysregulated CDT1 expression causes genomic instability, damages DNA, and may even cause cancer.

Background: The heterogeneity of cancer makes it challenging to predict its response to immunotherapy, highlighting the need to find reliable biomarkers for assessment. The sophisticated role of cancer stemness in mediating resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) is still inadequately comprehended.
Methods: Genome-scale CRISPR screening of RNA sequencing data from Project Achilles was utilized to pinpoint crucial genes unique to Ovarian Cancer (OV).

Gut immunity is essential for maintaining intestinal health. Recent studies have identified that intracellular liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) may play a significant role in regulating gut immunity, however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. LLPS refers to droplet condensates formed through intracellular molecular interactions, which are crucial for the formation of membraneless organelles and biomolecules.

Background: The surgical treatment of pituitary adenomas (PAs) is aimed at achieving maximal tumor resection, relieving the compression, and correcting the disorders of pituitary hormones. Parasellar dural invasion is a primary factor in the failure of the surgery. By comparing the two operations of tumor excision combined with resection of the medial wall of the cavernous sinus (MW) and simple tumor excision, we further confirmed the clinical effectiveness and safety of the resection technique of the MW.

Objective: To assess the cost-effectiveness of combining camrelizumab with rivoceranib versus sorafenib as initial treatment options for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) across different developmental regions in China.
Methods: Utilizing TreeAge Pro and data from the phase III randomized CARES-310 clinical trial, a model based on Markov state transitions was developed. Health state utility values were derived from the CARES-310 trial, and direct medical costs were obtained from relevant literature and local pricing data.

Purpose: Achieving and maintaining an optimal reduction in partially or fully displaced intra-articular fractures, specifically Type C distal radius fractures, can present challenges. This study aims to retrospectively evaluate and summarize a method utilizing multi-directional temporary Kapandji technique in combination with the volar locking plate fixation for these fractures.
Method: The study involved 15 patients diagnosed with Type C distal radius fractures who underwent surgery between January 2024 and April 2024.

Background: Ovarian cancer (OC) is a highly aggressive and often fatal disease that frequently goes undetected until it has already metastasized. The classic treatment for OC involves surgery followed by chemotherapy. However, despite the effectiveness of surgery, relapse is still a common occurrence.

Lung adenocarcinoma, a subtype of lung cancer, is produced by uncontrolled proliferation of somatic cells affected by some tumorigenic factors. The origin of this disease can be attributed to the concept of "cancer driver," which links the occurrence of tumor with specific changes in some key genes. These key genes can be identified at various molecular levels.

Corticosteroids are the standard first-line treatment for primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), with a high initial response but unsatisfactory sustained response (SR). Additionally, corticosteroids usually lead to hyperglycaemia especially in patients with pre-existing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Besides reducing the blood glucose levels, metformin was found to have immunomodulatory effects.

Introduction: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a prevalent and lethal malignancy, accounting for 95% of head and neck cancers. Tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activating protein ZETA (14-3-3ζ) is central to various signalling pathways and is pivotal in tumour progression.
Methods: Cancerous and corresponding non-cancerous tissue samples were collected from five patients diagnosed with HNSCC.

Neuroinflammation and oxidative stress are key factors leading to neuronal injury. In this study, we investigated the role of S32, a novel 3-acetylaminocoumarin compound, in ameliorating neuronal injury induced by neuroinflammation and oxidative stress and . First, we found that S32 reduced the expression levels of p-P65 and p-P38, inhibited the nuclear translocation of P65, and lowered the levels of pro-inflammatory factors in LPS-induced BV2 cells, which indicated that S32 had an antineuroinflammatory effect.

The association between cigarette smoking and the gut microbiota remains unclear, and there is no agreement on how smoking affects the composition of gut microorganisms. In this study, the relationship between smoking status and gut microbial composition was investigated by performing 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing analysis of stool samples from 80 healthy Chinese adults. The results showed that smoking did not cause significant changes to the composition and microbial functional pathways of the gut microbiota.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with about 85% of patients being diagnosed as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); and most presenting with stage IV disease initially. With the continuous advancement of treatment strategies of oncology, immunotherapy with/without chemo-immunotherapy has become the first-line treatment for patients with stage IV NSCLC. However, a proportion of patients still develop resistance to the treatment regimen and experience local progression, and primary lung lesion progression is the main progression pattern of stage IV NSCLC.
