Background: There are no studies on contact allergy in patients with prurigo. With itch being important in the pathophysiology of prurigo diseases and being a symptom of allergic contact dermatitis, we aimed to investigate contact allergy in patients suffering from prurigo.
Objectives: Exploratory analysis of patch test results in prurigo patients.

Background: Rosacea remains difficult to treat, despite many therapeutic options.
Objectives: To investigate the effect of pimecrolimus cream 1% (Elidel; Novartis Pharma, Nuremberg, Germany) in the treatment of papulopustular rosacea.
Methods: Forty patients with rosacea (25 men and 15 women, mean age 58 years) were enrolled in a randomized, vehicle-controlled, double-blind study.

We evaluated the reproducibility of atopy patch test reactions and the quality and quantity of itch in 16 patients with atopic eczema and a history of a positive atopy patch test reaction, comparing three different application sites. The allergen was re-applied simultaneously on both forearms and the back. Intensity and quality of pruritus were evaluated using a visual analogue scale and the Eppendorf itch questionnaire, respectively.

Unlabelled: Background Extracellular matrix proteolysis is one of the most important steps in angiogenesis. The urokinase-type plasminogen activator system (uPAS), consisting of the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), the uPA receptor (uPA-R), and their corresponding inhibitors, PAI-1 and PAI-2, is thought to play a role in this process.
Methods: We investigated the expression of the components of uPAS in angiosarcoma (AS, n = 4), Kaposi's sarcoma (KS, n = 31), granuloma pyogenicum (GP, n = 25), angioma (AN, n = 15), and healthy controls (CO, n = 15) with immunohistochemical methods.

In the last few years delayed reactions several hours after the injection of radiographic and contrast materials (PRC) have been described with increasing frequency. The authors report two observations on patients with delayed reactions in whom intradermoreactions (IDR) and patch tests to a series of ionic and non ionic PRC were studied. After angiography by the venous route in patient n degree 1 a biphasic reaction with an immediate reaction (dyspnea, loss of consciousness) and delayed macro-papular rash appeared, whilst patient n degree 2 developed a generalised sensation of heat, persistent pain at the site of injection immediately and a generalised macro-papular reaction after 24 hours.
