Objective: To determine the prevalence of genetic and endocrine abnormalities and to assess fetal, neonatal and surgical outcomes in cases of hypospadias associated with fetal growth restriction.
Method: A multicentric retrospective study was conducted across five prenatal diagnosis centers in Paris. The cohort encompassed all fetuses diagnosed with the combination of fetal growth restriction < 10th percentile (FGR) and hypospadias from 2013 to 2021.

Objective: To identify prenatal predictors of poor perinatal outcome in fetuses with isolated sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT).
Methods: This was a retrospective study of fetuses with isolated (non-syndromic) SCT managed at one of five pediatric surgery and/or fetal medicine centers between January 2007 and December 2017. The primary outcome was the occurrence of poor perinatal outcome, defined as prenatal death (including termination), or neonatal death or severe compromise (hemorrhagic shock).

Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) is a severe and rare disease characterized by the progressive deposition of misfolded transthyretin proteins, causing irreversible organ damage. Transthyretin amyloidosis can present as a hereditary ATTR or acquired wild-type ATTR form. Genetic testing is critical for determining a hereditary predisposition and subsequently initiating appropriate family screening.

Background/objectives: In paediatric liver transplantation, donor-recipient compatibility depends on graft size. We explored whether the graft weight can be predicted using the donor's biometric parameters.
Methods: We used seven easily available biometric variables in 142 anonymised paediatric and adult donors, with data collected between 2016 and 2022.

Introduction: HIV replication leads to a change in lymphocyte phenotypes that impairs immune protection against opportunistic infections. We examined current HIV replication as an independent risk factor for tuberculosis (TB).
Methods: We included people living with HIV from 25 European cohorts 1983-2015.

Background: In kidney transplantation, molecular diagnostics may be a valuable approach to improve the precision of the diagnosis. Using next-generation sequencing (NGS), we aimed to identify clinically relevant archetypes.
Methods: We conducted an Illumina bulk RNA sequencing on 770 kidney biopsies (540 kidney recipients) collected between 2006 and 2021 from 11 European centers.

Background: The choice of angiography system could influence the outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS), but its impact is not yet well understood. This study aims to compare the clinical and technical outcomes of MT performed with single plane versus biplane angiography systems.
Method: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, following PRISMA guidelines, by searching PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus to include studies on patients with AIS who underwent MT with either single plane or biplane angiography up to May 4, 2024.

Background And Aims: We aimed to review current literature on the impact of Preoperative Identification (POI) of the Adamkiewicz Artery (AKA) in solid pediatric Posterior Thoracic Tumors (PTT), comprising a spectrum of neuroblastic tumors and neuroblastoma, with particular focus on Complete Macroscopic Excision (CME) and Neurologic Complications/Sequelae (NCS).
Methods: A systematic review in accordance with PRISMA guidelines was undertaken. The study included reports on pediatric patients providing available data on POI of the AKA in PTT.

Background: The transfusion strategy in the acute phase of myocardial infarction (AMI) remains a debated topic with non-standardized guidelines. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of liberal versus restrictive transfusion strategies on mortality during AMI.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted across MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the COCHRANE library databases, focusing on randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

As bloodstream infections and associated septic shock are common causes of mortality in hospitals, rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) performed directly on positive blood cultures is needed to implement an efficient therapy in clinical settings. We evaluated the Reveal rapid AST system on a collection of 197 fully characterized carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales, including 177 carbapenemase producers (CPE) spiked in blood culture bottles. The clinical categorization based on the Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) determination of eighteen antimicrobial molecules was compared to the clinical categorization based on the disk diffusion assay as a reference.

Objectives: This study described OXA-1186, a novel carbapenemase related to OXA-198 carbapenemase and produced by a clinical isolate of Citrobacter freundii.
Methods: WGS was used to characterize the resistome, virulome and plasmid types of the C. freundii 315C8 isolate and to reconstruct the blaOXA-1186-carrying plasmid.

Aim: The rate of surgical recurrence following ileorectal anastomosis (IRA) in patients with Crohn's disease (CD) remains poorly understood. Most studies were conducted before the advent of biologics. Our aim was to assess the fate of IRA in patients with CD during the biologics era and identify risk factors for endoscopic, clinical, and surgical recurrence.

Background: A drastic increase in carbapenem resistance among Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates occurred during the period 2019-22. Three epidemiological changes could be evidenced: (i) NDM became the predominant carbapenemase; (ii) NDM-5 replaced NDM-1; and (iii) the emergence of NDM-producing K. pneumoniae ST258 (NDM-KpST258).
