Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the oral cavity represents about 2% of overall malignant neoplasms and 47% of the head and neck region Squamous cell carcinoma of tongue has a peculiar behavior of occult and skips metastasis to regional lymph nodes. It occasionally occurs along with floor of the mouth.

CD157 Can Replace CD24 and CD14 in a Single-Tube Flow-Cytometric Assay to Detect Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) Clones on Both Neutrophils and Monocytes: A Prospective Study From North India.

Introduction As per current guidelines, detection of paroxysmal nocturnal hematuria (PNH) clones on leucocytes requires the demonstration of the loss of at least two glycosyl-phosphatidyl-inositol (GPI)-linked molecules on both neutrophils and monocytes by flow cytometry. CD24 and CD14 are GPI-linked molecules expressed on neutrophils and monocytes respectively, whereas another GPI-linked molecule, CD157, is expressed on both neutrophils and monocytes. This prospective study evaluated the ability of CD157 to replace both CD24 and CD14 in a single-tube flow-cytometric assay to detect PNH clones on both neutrophils and monocytes.

Salivary microbial dysbiosis may predict lung adenocarcinoma: A pilot study.

Background: Adenocarcinoma is a more common type of Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Lung cancer showed a statistically significant increment in the Kamrup Urban district of Assam, Tripura, Sikkim, and Manipur of India. The goal of our pilot study is to identify non-invasive microbial biomarkers to detect lung adenocarcinoma (LAC).

Background: RUNX1T1 is extensively studied in the context of AML1-RUNX1T1 fusion protein in acute myeloid leukemia. Protein Profile of Human Saliva as a Predictive and Prognostic Tool for OSCC in Tamol Chewer's Population in Assam.

Objective: To identify potential proteomic salivary biomarker in tamol chewers and comparing it to healthy and Oral squamous cell carcinoma cases.

Methods: A total of fifty unstimulated saliva samples were collected from the healthy volunteers, tamol chewers (without tobacco), and OSCC patients referred to North-East cancer Hospital, Jorabat, Assam, India. The 2-D gel analysis and western blotting were performed to analyze protein profiling.

A Study of Hormonal Receptors in Esophageal Carcinoma: Northeast Indian Tertiary Cancer Center Study.

Geometry encoded functional programming of tumor homing peptides for targeted drug delivery.

Poly-peptide molecules have shown promising applications in drug delivery and tumor targeting. A series of tumor homing peptides were designed by exhaustively sampling low energy geometrical basins of amino acids at specific sites of a peptide molecule to induce a conformational lock. This peptide library was pruned to a limited set of eight molecules, employing electrostatic interactions, docking, and molecular dynamics simulations.

Metastatic involvement of level IIb nodal station in oral squamous cell carcinoma: A clinicopathological study.

Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of Level IIb metastasis in patients with oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCCs).

Materials And Methods: A total of 110 newly diagnosed oral cavity cancer patients requiring surgery as the primary modality were included in the study. Preoperative clinical examinations were done and tumor-node-metastasis staging was noted.

Prognosis of vulval cancer with lymph node status and size of primary lesion: A survival study.

Introduction: Squamous cell cancer of the vulva is a rare disease with an annual incidence of two to three per 100,000 women. Lymph node metastasis is the most important prognostic factor for the recurrence and survival in vulval carcinoma.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the upper trachea: a rare neoplasm.

Primary malignant tracheal tumors are not common and adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of trachea is rare. We report an extremely rare case of ACC of proximal trachea, which was diagnosed in a 42-year-old male who presents with 6-month history of dyspnea. Lateral skiagram of neck, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a broad-based polypoidal soft tissue mass arising from posterior wall of the proximal trachea.
