Background: In comparison with perfectly machined surface implants, surface topographic modifications like roughness accelerate the osteogenesis of dental pulpal stem cells (DPSC). This greatly enhances bone-implant contact and osteogenic potential of the stem cells. Hence, the aim of the current study was to evaluate and compare the differentiation and proliferation potential of stem cells obtained from dental pulp on sand-blasted and acid etched implant discs surfaces.

Background The present study aimed to assess the efficacy of a heat-treated, FlexiCON nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) rotary instrumentation system and compare it with existing commonly used instrumentation systems (hand file, ProTaper Universal, and WaveOne) using the EndoVac irrigation system. Methodology A total of 210 single-rooted, human permanent anterior teeth were equally divided into four groups of 50 teeth each (Group I for step-back, group II for ProTaper rotary, Group III for WaveOne reciprocating, and Group IV for FlexiCON rotary instrumentation system), and 10 teeth were used as controls. Canals were irrigated with EndoVac irrigation in each group.

Background: Glide path establishment is a critical step in endodontic treatment, particularly in curved root canals, as it facilitates safe and effective canal shaping. The apically extruded debris during this process can cause postoperative complications, including pain and inflammation.

Materials And Methods: In this study, 60 extracted human mandibular molars with curved mesial roots were selected and randomly divided into three groups (n = 20) based on the glide path establishment system used: Group A (manual stainless steel K-files), Group B (rotary PathFiles), and Group C (reciprocating R-Pilot files).

J Pharm Bioallied Sci

December 2024

Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre, Durg, Chhattisgarh, India.

Corticosteroids are crucial in dentistry for their anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, aiding in managing conditions such as oral lichen planus, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, and post-operative inflammation. By inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators and immune cell activity, they offer significant symptomatic relief and promote healing. However, potential systemic and local side effects necessitate cautious application.
