S100A4 protein overexpression has been reported in different types of cancer and plays a key role by interacting with the tumor suppressor protein Tp53. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in S100A4 could directly influence the biomolecular interaction with the tumor suppressor protein Tp53 due to their aberrant conformations. Hence, the study was designed to predict the deleterious SNP and its effect on the S100A4 protein structure and function.

Desired drug candidates should have both a high potential binding chance and high specificity. Recently, many drug screening strategies have been developed to screen compounds with high possible binding chances or high binding affinity. However, there is still no good solution to detect whether those selected compounds possess high specificity.

People with hematologic malignancies (HM) frequently postulate intensive care unit (ICU) hospitalization due to organ damage caused by the disease process or treatment-related consequences. This study is aimed at looking at mortality and sign factors in adult patients with hematologic malignancy (HM) who have been hospitalized in the ICU. Death was one quality indicator; researchers used a machine learning approach to find determinants of death.

The advancement of 3D-printing technology has ushered in a new era in the production of machine components, building materials, prototypes, and so on. In 3D-printing techniques, the infill reduces the amount of material used, thereby reducing the printing time and sustaining the aesthetics of the products. Infill patterns play a significant role in the property of the material.

Identifying native-like protein-ligand complexes (PLCs) from an abundance of docking decoys is critical for large-scale virtual drug screening in early-stage drug discovery lead searching efforts. Providing reliable prediction is still a challenge for most current affinity predicting models because of a lack of non-binding data during model training, lost critical physical-chemical features, and difficulties in learning abstract information with limited neural layers. In this work, we proposed a deep learning model, DeepBindBC, for classifying putative ligands as binding or non-binding.

Lung cancer is the major cause of cancer-related death in this generation, and it is expected to remain so for the foreseeable future. It is feasible to treat lung cancer if the symptoms of the disease are detected early. It is possible to construct a sustainable prototype model for the treatment of lung cancer using the current developments in computational intelligence without negatively impacting the environment.

Background: Malaysians are disillusioned with the increased number of COVID-19 infection cases and the prolonged lockdown period. As a result of COVID-19 mitigation measurements, Malaysians are experiencing emotional and psychological consequences such as anxiety. Thus, there is an urgent need to have an instrument that could serve as a tool to assess the psychological impact of COVID-19 among Malaysians rapidly.

The effects of different incubation periods on the contents of amino acids, proteins, glycosylated proteins and metabolites in germinated and ungerminated mung bean seeds were investigated in this study. The study employs soaking of mung bean seeds in water under laboratory conditions at 28 °C for 3, 6, and 9 h, followed by germination for 12, 24, 36, and 48 h. Seeds collected from different period of imbibition and germination were subjected to total protein extraction for phytochemical analysis.

Antimicrobial resistance issues have risen dramatically in recent years, posing a severe concern to humans worldwide. The urgent need to find novel compounds for pharmaceutical applications prompts the research of under-explored environments such as marine ecosystems. The present study was designed to discover novel secondary metabolites, and we have isolated about 30 actinomycetes from the marine soil samples collected in Thondi (Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, India), where most isolates are associated with the genus Streptomyces.

Estrogens and progesterone, in unison and/or separately, synchronize the distinct events of blastocyst development, uterine priming and receptivity induction for implantation. In contrast to high implantation failure rates, the mechanistic concepts regarding the uterine receptivity for implantation still remain elusive. The present study aims to define the minimum estradiol (E) dose to induce uterine receptivity for successful implantation in post-coitus bilaterally ovariectomized (BLO) progesterone-primed uterus of mice.

Background: Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have a crucial function in affecting the susceptibility of individuals to diseases and also determine how an individual responds to different treatment options. The present study aimed to predict and characterize deleterious missense nonsynonymous SNPs (nsSNPs) of lysozyme C (LYZ C) gene using different computational methods. Lyz C is an important antimicrobial peptide capable of damaging the peptidoglycan layer of bacteria leading to osmotic shock and cell death.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is highly related to cardiac arrest leading to death and organ damage. Radiological techniques and electrocardiography have been used as preliminary tests to diagnose MI; however, these techniques are not sensitive enough for early-stage detection. A blood biomarker-based diagnosis is an immediate solution, and due to the high correlation of troponin with MI, it has been considered to be a gold-standard biomarker.

Research indicates that deaths due to fall incidents are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths in the world. Death by fall due to a person texting or talking on mobile phones while walking, impaired vision, unexpected terrain changes, low balance, weakness, and chronic conditions has increased drastically over the past few decades. Particularly, unexpected terrain changes would many times lead to severe injuries and sometimes death even in healthy individuals.
