Objective: The Expert Consensus Guidelines initiative on MIDH for LDLT was organized with the goal of safe implementation and development of these complex techniques with donor safety as the main priority.
Background: Following the development of minimally invasive liver surgery, techniques of MIDH were developed with the aim of reducing the short- and long-term consequences of the procedure on liver donors. These techniques, although increasingly performed, lack clinical guidelines.

Primary tuberculosis (TB) of the graft presenting as multiple liver abscesses is previously unreported. A 14-month-old male child in the early post liver transplant (LT) period presented with high-grade fever spikes and on evaluation was found to have multiple pyogenic liver abscesses (PLA) in the CT abdomen. His fever was not responding to intravenous antibiotics and liver biopsy was done which showed numerous acid fast bacilli.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease manifested by core symptoms of loss of motor control and postural instability. Loss of dopaminergic neurons is the cause of PD, thus enhancing dopamine level by pharmacological treatment is one of the key treatment strategies for PD. However, the limitations of current treatment strategies open the possibility of novel drug candidates for the treatment of PD.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) virus is spreading rapidly, and there are obvious concerns for the immunocompromised patient population including transplant recipients. Creating awareness and understanding patient concerns will play an important role in protecting this vulnerable group in developing timely and appropriate healthcare interventions.
Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted between 23rd March 2020 and 1st April 2020 among 154 liver transplant recipients, transplanted between October 2018 and February 2020.

Liver cirrhosis in infancy can be secondary to various etiologies such as biliary atresia, familial cholestatic and metabolic disorders. Wolman's disease (WD) is a lysosomal storage disorder caused by the absence of lysosomal acid lipase enzyme activity and a significant association with infantile cholestasis and cirrhosis. We encountered an infant presenting with advanced cirrhosis and decompensation having splenomegaly for which the underlying etiology was found to be WD and the diagnostic clue came from abdominal X-ray showing bilateral adrenal calcifications.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of comorbid conditions in diabetic, prediabetic, and nondiabetic individuals. Additionally, the current study examines the levels of awareness of those comorbidities among North Indian population. As a part of a national study (Niyantrit Madhumeh Bharat [NMB] screening program), different comorbidity parameters were screened in the northern part of India between April and September 2017.

Objectives: Pediatric transplant recipients may be at increased risk of developing serious infections due to COVID-19. We undertook a web-based survey among parents of post-liver transplant pediatric patients to assess knowledge and concerns regarding COVID-19 pandemic and impact of social media on them.
Methods: This cross-sectional online survey was conducted between March 21 and March 26, 2020.

The current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), has become a major public health crisis over the past few months. Overall case fatality rates range between 2-6%; however, the rates are higher in the elderly and those with underlying comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. Recent reports showed that about 2-11% of patients with COVID-19 had underlying chronic liver disease.

Background: Outcomes of high-risk hepatoblastoma have been dismal, especially in resource-challenged countries where access to chemotherapy and paediatric liver transplantation is limited for the underprivileged. This study aimed to assess the results of treatment of high-risk hepatoblastoma in a tertiary centre, including patients who had non-transplant surgical procedures in the form of extended resection.
Methods: A review of patients with high-risk hepatoblastoma treated between January 2012 and May 2018 was carried out.

Background: Conventional wisdom dictates that a larger hepatectomy is more prone to complications. Consequently, with the donor safety as paramount, the transplant community has intuitively been proponents of left lobe donation in live donor liver transplantation (LDLT), thereby satisfying the tenet of double equipoise. More recently some data suggest that this may not always be the case, especially in established centres.

Aims: The aim of our study was to compare the outcome of Kasai portoenterostomy (KPE) in children with biliary atresia (BA) older than 90 days to children less than 90 days and to study its safety and efficacy in children older than 90 days.
Subjects And Methods: Relevant data were collected from our prospectively maintained database of all children with BA who underwent KPE over a 5-year period. Children were divided into two groups: Group 1 ≤90 days and Group 2 >90 days.

Advanced cholangiocarcinoma especially those involving the vasculature have extremely limited options of cure. Ex situ liver resection entails performing a total hepatectomy, resecting the tumour on the back-table followed by reimplantation (autotransplantation) of the liver. Application of this technique for these tumours has rarely been done due to complexity of the procedure and the dismal prognosis of the lesions.

Introduction: Auxiliary partial orthotopic liver transplantation (APOLT) in acute liver failure acts as a bridge to native liver regeneration with potential for immunosuppression free survival. While technical concerns limit its universal acceptance, the indications in acute liver failure also need to be examined for this procedure to ultimately succeed.
Case History: We present the case of an eight-month-old girl with cryptogenic acute liver failure who underwent APOLT.

Auxiliary partial orthotopic liver transplantation (APOLT) in selected noncirrhotic metabolic liver diseases (NCMLDs) is a viable alternative to orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) as it supplements the function of the native liver with the missing functional protein. APOLT for NCMLD is not universally accepted due to concerns of increased technical complications and longterm graft atrophy. Review of a prospectively collected database of all pediatric patients (age ≤16 years) who underwent liver transplantation for NCMLD from August 2009 up to June 2017 was performed.

Purpose: Auxiliary partial orthotopic liver transplantation (APOLT) in metabolic liver disease (MLD) has the advantage of correcting the metabolic defect, preserving the native liver for gene therapy in the future with the possibility of withdrawal of immunosuppression.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of safety and efficacy of APOLT in correcting the underlying defect and its impact on neurological status of children with MLD.
Results: A total of 13 APOLT procedures were performed for MLD during the study period.
