. This study aims to explore alternative diagnostic methods to assess thyroid function in patients unable to undergo blood tests for thyroid-stimulating hormones (TSH) and thyroxine (T4), such as individuals with trypanophobia, severe medical conditions, or coagulopathy. Considering the impact of thyroid dysfunction on mitochondrial metabolism and the essential role of proper mitochondrial function in ciliary motility, we postulate that assessing nasal ciliary function could serve as a surrogate diagnostic approach for thyroid dysfunction.

Objectives: Dental antibiotic stewardship is crucial in low- and middle-income countries where the burden of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is high and antibiotic misuse is common. Given that India is the most populous country, the largest antibiotic consumer and has a large dental prescriber population, this study investigated the extent to which current Indian policy and practice for dental antibiotic prescribing and stewardship aligns with the global policy and best practice.
Methods: The READ approach was used to identify and extract data and synthesize the findings.

The air separation (O/N) based on polymeric membranes is critical because it is more energy efficient than traditional methods. Dense polymeric membranes are now the main stay of industrial processes that generate oxygen and nitrogen enriched gas. Though, regular polymeric membranes often fall short of selective pressure demands because O and N gases have such comparable equivalent diameters.

Anaemia is one of the most prevalent issues encountered throughout pregnancy, with Iron deficiency anaemia and megaloblastic anaemia being the most common causes in India. It is critical to address anaemia in pregnancy since it has been linked to adverse pregnancy outcomes like preterm delivery, low-birth-weight newborns, fetal mortality, and, in certain circumstances, maternal death. The maternal mortality rate (MMR) is one of the significant health challenges, particularly in developing countries.

This study examined the obstacles and factors influencing the prevention and treatment of anemia among pregnant women in India. Maintaining antenatal care is essential, leading to favorable birth outcomes and healthier offspring. However, inadequate consumption of essential nutrients is widespread among pregnant women, particularly in lower and middle-income economies such as India, contributing to high maternal and infant mortality rates.

The present study explores district-level data associated with health insurance coverage (%) and the prevalence of hypertension (mildly, moderately, and severely elevated) observed across men and women as per NFHS 5. Coastal districts in the peninsular region of India and districts in parts of northeastern India have the highest prevalence of elevated blood pressure. Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Gujarat and parts of Rajasthan have a lower prevalence of elevated blood pressure.

We report the clinical outcome of an emergency ABO incompatible-liver transplantation (LT) for an 8-year-old child with Wilson's disease-induced acute liver failure. The pretransplant anti-A antibody titer was 1:64, and hence he underwent three cycles of conventional plasma exchange as pretransplant liver supportive treatment for deranged coagulopathy and liver function followed by one cycle of immunoadsorption (IA) prior to LT. The posttransplant immunosuppression consisted of rituximab, tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil, and corticosteroid.

Diabetes patients are much more prone to death from cardiovascular illnesses than from any other cause, and they also have a 2-5 fold higher likelihood of acquiring cardiac failure and other complications.
Objective: In this review, the pathophysiology of diabetic cardiomyopathy is discussed, with an emphasis on the molecular and cellular irregularities that arise as the condition progresses, as well as existing and prospective future treatments.

Aims: Likelihood of alcohol dependence (AD) is increased among people who transition to greater levels of alcohol involvement at a younger age. Indicated interventions delivered early may be effective in reducing risk, but could be costly. One way to increase cost-effectiveness would be to develop a prediction model that targeted interventions to the subset of youth with early alcohol use who are at highest risk of subsequent AD.
