Background And Aim: Diabetes has been shown in last decades to be associated with a significantly higher mortality among patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary PCI (PPCI). Therefore, the aim of current study was to evaluate the impact of diabetes on times delays, reperfusion and mortality in a contemporary STEMI population undergoing PPCI, including treatment during the COVID pandemic.

Methods And Results: The ISACS-STEMI COVID-19 is a large-scale retrospective multicenter registry involving PPCI centers from Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia and North-Africa, including patients treated from 1st of March until June 30, 2019 and 2020.

Anti-SARS-CoV-2 and cytotoxic activity of two marine alkaloids from green alga Sonder in the Dardanelles.

Sonder is a green alga belonging to the Caulerpaceae family. This is the first chemical investigation of in the Dardanelles which resulted in the isolation of four compounds, caulerpin (1), monomethyl caulerpinate (2), beta-sitosterol (3), and palmitic acid (4). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses including 1D- and 2D NMR and mass.

The objective of our study was to evaluate the antibody responses of health care workers (HCWs) who were vaccinated with booster dose BNT162b2 6 months after 2 doses of the CoronoVac vaccine. The study included 318 HCWs vaccinated with inactive CoronaVac SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in 2 doses. Anti-spike/RBD IgG levels were measured immediately before and 1 month after the booster dose.

Methods: In this retrospective study, the clinical records of patients between April 2015 and June 2020 were reviewed for evaluation of demographic features, accompanying neurological and ophthalmologic manifestations, symptom duration, etiological cause, and imaging findings. Patients with congenital and acquired blepharoptosis with chronic etiologies were excluded.

Background: During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, concerns have been arisen on the use of renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASI) due to the potentially increased expression of Angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE)2 and patient's susceptibility to SARS-CoV2 infection. Diabetes mellitus have been recognized favoring the coronavirus infection with consequent increase mortality in COVID-19. No data have been so far reported in diabetic patients suffering from ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), a very high-risk population deserving of RASI treatment.

Background And Objectives: Healthcare workers (HCWs) were among the first groups to be vaccinated in Turkey. The data to be obtained by the vaccination of HCWs would guide wide spread vaccination programs.

Materials And Methods: The study included 330 HCWs working at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital and vaccinated with inactive CoronaVac (Sinovac Life Sciences, China) SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in two doses (28 days apart).

Quality of life and satisfaction with treatment in subjects with type 2 diabetes: results from primary health care in Turkey.

The aim of this study was to assess the quality of life and degree of satisfaction with the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in primary health care in Turkey. A total of 180 adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus from the Family Medicine out-patient clinic were included in the study. Participants were asked to fill out a self-report survey to collect data via two well validated scales, including the Turkish version of the Audit of Diabetes Dependent Quality of Life (ADDQoL) instrument and the Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ).
