The incidence of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) increases in chronic lung diseases. Our aim was to evaluate SDB and sleep quality in children with postinfectious bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) and assess associated risk factors. We hypothesized that children with BO are at increased risk for SDB and have impaired sleep quality.

Psychological effects of calisthenic exercises on neuroinflammatory and rheumatic diseases.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of calisthenic exercises on psychological status in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Methods: This study comprised 40 patients diagnosed with AS randomized into two exercise groups (group 1 = hospital-based, group 2 = home-based) and 40 patients diagnosed with MS randomized into two exercise groups (group 1 = hospital-based, group 2 = home-based).

Results: The exercise programme was completed by 73 participants (hospital-based = 34, home-based = 39).

Background: The Thwaites and Lancet scoring systems have been used in the rapid diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis (TBM). However, brucellar meningoencephalitis (BME) has similar characteristics with TBM. Materials And Methods: Seven Sprague-Dawley rats were used as donors of cells. Rectangular flaps (7 × 7 cm ) were created featuring the right second epigastric musculocutaneous perforator in 63 male Sprague-Dawley rats.

Introduction And Hypothesis: We present our minimum 1-year results with a mesh spiral-sling procedure (MSSP) for managing refractory and disabling stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women.

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possible predictors of thyroid disorders after neck radiotherapy, with a focus on radiation dose-volume factors.

Methods: Thyroid function was measured in 100 patients who had received radiotherapy to the neck, including the thyroid. All radiation-induced thyroid dysfunctions were determined with an endpoint of abnormal thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (fT3) and thyroxine (fT4) and thyroid peroxidase antibodies and (TPA).

We assessed the effect of combination of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in predicting in-hospital and long-term mortality in patients (n = 2518) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Cutoff values for NLR and PLR were calculated with receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves. If both PLR and NLR were above the threshold, patients were classified as "high risk.

Patients with an overlap of the pharyngeal-cervical-brachial variant of Guillain-Barré syndrome and Miller Fisher syndrome (PCB/MFS) have rarely been reported. The electrophysiological findings in PCB/MFS are of great interest and may provide insight into the pathophysiology of the disorder. We report the clinical features and nerve conduction study findings in a patient with PCB/MFS with high titers of antiganglioside antibodies against GQ1b, GD1a, and GD1b.

Methods: Data of 7 consecutive women treated with VILGU between 2011 and 2013 were reviewed. Two patients had cystostomy tubes at repair, and 5 had undergone previous urethral dilations and urethrotomies.

The effects of 5-fluorouracil on flexor tendon healing by using a biodegradable gelatin, slow releasing system: experimental study in a hen model.

This study investigated the effects of 5-fluorouracil in a slow-release biodegradable gelatin system on tendon healing. Gelatin blocks prepared in a size of 10 × 20 × 1 mm were loaded with 10, 20, and 30 mg of 5-fluorouracil, and 30 adult white Leghorn chickens were used. The tendons to the third and fourth toes were severed and repaired.
